Open Beta character wipe

Will the open beta that is scheduled for late January last a long time? When the game officially launches will open beta characters and banks be wiped?

We're getting this one a lot. Might need to add it to the FAQ not many people read.
The last wipe (actually one of the few true wipes, given most wipes were legacy migrations) will be on January 23rd, 2013. After that, everything is permanent. Even when the game 'releases'. There WILL be passive skill resets, however, as GGG are not done tweaking the Skilldrasil (skill tree). https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

if so it would be nice to see him post it because our agreement on sign up states that GGG reserves the right to wipe our characters "at any time, for any reason" during open beta. Bring me my bow of burning gold

Of course they "reserve the right" but they don't plan to wipe after open beta.

It might be better to call it a reset. Wipe implies that characters will be deleted.
