~[1.0.6] Top 5 Tier-One Builds (Standard and Domination)~

So, being an ardent fan of this amazing game, I've been looking through the forums for really good builds, those that give an amazing mix of DPS and damage mitigation. Below are the top 5 tier-one builds in POE at the moment, in no order, in my opinion.


1) Mathil's Elemental Buzzsaw Scion

- Usage of 5 auras means that party members would be able to benefit greatly.
- Easily solos end-game bosses.
- Comparatively cheaper to build as compared to other end-game builds.

2) Arly's Aura-based LA Scion

- Extremely high DPS, although slightly weak single-target DPS.
- Due to usage of Voltaxic, elemental reflect mobs no longer that much of a burden.
- Pretty tanky.

3) Asharin's CoC EK-Discharger Witch

- One of the highest DPS in this game.
- Unlike the Danmaku, this build is very tanky and packs a lot of survivability with VP and IR.
- Immune to physical/elemental reflect.

4) Sharp's CI Immortal Scion

- Extremely tanky build.
- Immune to elemental and physical reflect.
- Able to take end-game map bosses head-on.
- Hardcore Viable.

5) Mortezzah's God-Tank Marauder

- Tankiest build in PoE.
- DPS is decent.
- Can play all map mods.

Dragon's Infernal Tank Marauder

- Extremely tanky.
- DPS is decent.
- Ele Reflect Mod can still be an issue.

Kripparian's Burning Discharge Templar

- Sick DPS.
- Tanky.
- Cheap to build.

TouPoutsou's Flicker Strike Shadow

- Insane DPS. 180k DPS without Abyssus. 400k DPS with..
- Decent amount of damage mitigation, 51% Phys Reduction and 75 All Ele Res.
- Have to be careful against reflect mobs. Because of risky nature, not viable for hardcore.

Tiurakh's Evasion Based Ranger with High Evasion, Max Block Chance, High Spell Block

- Not a tanky build but has extremely high survivability.
- Able to take end-game map bosses head-on.
- For the survivability it posses, this ranger has quite some DPS.
- Tree can be easily adapted for hardcore players.

Elsahr's Blazing RF Scion

- Life nodes are damage nodes.
- Could go up to 13K HP with Legacy Kaoms and yet do insane DPS. At 8K HP, RF DPS is 70K.
- Insane clear speed since you are just walking around and pausing only to pick up loot.
- Cannot attack totems.
- Relies slightly on snapshotting.

Why is #4 titled "Arly's Aura-based LA Marauder" but when I click the link to the guide it is for a Ranger and he has a message saying he does not use auras?

I like the gameplay of this but what is the actual build, Marauder or Ranger and auras or no?

Who is deciding these rankings and on what criteria is a build judged as being top-tier?

I use a variation of Toupoustou's Flicker Strike build however I am also wondering who decides what builds are considered the "top". In fact I consider Mollari's Discharge build to be superior to Krip's. The title and topic should be changed to take into consideration your opinion is not fact (neither is mine).

The readers will decide the rankings <3 Well, my definition of a top-tier build is one that has very good balance between DPS and damage mitigation.
