Z's **0.9.13.i** Chain & Power Siphon DW Wands

Its been a loooong time since the last time I tested a duelist build worth writing about. Chain & Power Siphon, Twin Terrors & high phys dmg wands are the catalyst for this very unconventional crit heavy build.

Stacking evasion is working ok. It could be better, but Leather & Steel + Reflexes are rather strong. Grace gives Arrow Dodging a 70% chance to avoid projectiles. 105% chance to avoid chilled & frozen thanks to passives & gear. Never getting frozen or chilled + solid resistances make for better mobility.

Ive tested as high as a 61 map with flicker strike mobs. While not perfect, its viable enough to write about! The offense is NUTS. This is a killemall before they kill you playstyle. Its not safe, but Im working on that. Im testing Enduring Cry + Immortal Call for those oshi moments. Hopefully skill & awareness will be enough to handle any situation moving forward.

Im certain there are other DW wand duelist builds out there. If so, I would appreciate hearing feedback!

What I am going to say only applies if you are looking to min/max, you got to lvl70+ so obviously your build is viable enough as it is. Here goes:

I'm curious what are you trying to accomplish by using 2 wands. One wand will always be better than the other, unless you have mirrored it or something. So you are going to be alternating between a relatively better hit and a relatively worse hit. So why not use only the better wand and have all yours hits be on the good side. Since there is no skill that attacks with 2 wands simultaneously I really don't see the point of dual wielding wands.

If you are using it purely for twin terrors then you should consider that for 5 points in that cluster you get 16% accuracy and 125% crit chance. But for just 4 points you can pick up the assassination cluster near the shadow that will give you 100% crit chance and 20% multi and a point to spare. Much better deal.

Basically all dual wands does for you as opposed to wand/shield is the 10% increased attack speed when dual wielding and as a trade-off you sacrifice all defences from a shield and 50% of your hits are sub-optimal.

All the avoid elemental ailments nodes are useless for a life based character - high life pool + resist will make the chance of those effect happening very close to 0%. If you are looking to make your guy more safe trade all of those for life nodes.

Other than that, chain + power siphon is off the hook, I have been saying that for 2 months now, glad that you are spreading the word.

I initially did take a cluster of shield passives. I have multiple excellent shields to choose from. I got steamrolled. It was terribad. I decided to go all in dual wands for the consistent rate of fire. I linked stun to frenzy & use vulnerability/warlords.

I've had this scary looking Death Barb wand in my inventory for months & when Moonsorrow dropped the other day I had to try it. I also was completely clueless how any wand build functioned, so this is a learning experiment based on curiosity.

I appreciate the heads up with the alternate to Twin Terrors. Down the road in OB I might try this optimized. Do you have a link to a successful power siphon+chain build I can reference?

I disagree with the avoidance passives. Then again,

prevents chilled/frozen completely when 55% worth of avoidance passives are taken. The chilled effect from a quality Ice Shot is nasty. I do it to my friends with DF all the time haha. 105% chance to avoid being chilled is a lifesaver in pve. I cant move well, I die. I cant attack instantly, I die. 105% to avoid being frozen = more dps from not having to wear DF.

Power Siphon + Chain, as you said, is LULZWUT strong. That really is the engine of this build. More crit damage would be diabolic fun.

i am farily new to the game, so i´d like you to look over this build and tell me what could be cleared up as well as how you planned the skillset for your DW wand(erer^^)
(or if this build playable at all)

i am a fan of CI and evasion and the physical dmg from wands gives a great excuse for choosing GR aswell, only gripe i have is that i can´t get arrow dodging and more elemental/ weapondmg... help! :D
