List of items that can be dropped outside maps.

Deleted due to necro thread and this info was not accurate any longer.

I'd like an answer too, but until then, post what you have seen drop from non-map / Dominus that you might consider "rare":

Its probably just the same as before, the highest level uniques couldnt drop outside of maps because the ilvl was too high.

GGG could you give some more info? That's a bit annoying to guess what can be dropped and what cannot... If I can't drop all top uniques, I wouldn't do any MF runs at all. But I don't know if they drop so I need to check, but oh wait, if they can't drop them I will never know about it, coz that could be just described as bad RNG.

Ok community can make a forum thread about that and start to gathering data, but this will take ages and I don't see any reason why we can't just receive some info.

So please, save our time, frustration (omg again 2 crap uniq from Dominus) and let us know. Or at least give us a number, if those "rarest Unique items" refer to 5, 10 or maybe 20 uniques.

Thanks.

PS. There is already a lot of data that we have to guess (like MF diminishing returns).

The whole point of them not telling us is that we figure it out. Its what builds a community, and keeps people interested. Once you know you have to kill boss X to get item Y you'll make that your life, until you have item Y bask in the glory - become bored - come to the forums to complain about a lack of content.

It doesn't really look that way, while devs not giving basic game information is a widespread practice, making us "figure it by ourselves" doesn't really help to make a community. It is a long and tedious work (if possible at all) and the only ones who work on it are the ones who are invested enough in the community that they dont need a excuse to talk about the game. While things like new uniques are manageable, more complex things like this are much more annoying and mechanics like MF diminishing returns or summons resistances that are plain impossible to calculate.
I'll also post some rare-sounding uniques that I got from non-map areas:
Oh wait there's just one.

It seems to me that you are describing something that is not a game, something that is not fun. There is nothing here that is "work", it is all done based on our own motivations, our own sense of fun. Personally, I consider it a joy and a blessing that we are not given this information so that we can figure it out for ourselves. Of course I get that it would be more convenient if GGG would just tell us everything but that would also be true of getting help with chess moves from a computer program or just seeing the end of a movie. It saves us time but in the end we lost what it was we came here for. Fun.

The time when a game becomes "work" is when we should really consider what it is we are doing.

You can add this to piety-droppable stuff. Yeah it's not a high-level unique, but it's certainly valuable.

That's not true whatsoever. Why do people keep spreading that rumor?

The highest level non-map area before was level 68. The highest level non-map area now is still level 68 (or is Dominus-area 69? In any case that would only strengthen my point further - area level has stayed the same or gone up, not down) This means that the highest ilvl that could drop was and is 70.

The devs also stated that after a certain patch, some unique items (even if it were all of them, this rumor would still only be a rumor) must have an ilvl equal to required level in order to drop. I challenge you to find a unique item that existed before 1.0.0 which had a required level over 70. You can't do it because there were none. EDIT: Currently, there are no uniques with required level over 70 either anyways.

The ONLY way this rumor could be true and not a rumor is if one of the following is true:
1. Chris is talking about new uniques, i.e. half the rumor is false
2. Chris was lying in patch 1.0.0 notes
3. They secretly added even higher ilvl requirements and did not tell us about it, giving us misleading information about ilvl=required lvl for some unique items

Therefore, it is INCREDIBLY unlikely that it is "just the same as before" because in order for that to be true, the devs would have to have lied or given misleading information.

EDIT2: Sorry to sound like a bit of an asshole about this, but it's been grinding my gears for a while that people would spread that misinformation and I would do nothing to correct it. So, now I'm correcting it - unless I made a mistake in my logic somewhere? Anyone who can, feel free to point it out if there is one.

I just really don't approve of blindly parroting things you've heard without thinking about it yourself. That's the recipe for disasters like the Crusades, etc. Yes, this is just a game forum, so it's not terribly important whether you're a parrot or not. Still, spreading misinformation can only ever last up until the point that someone corrects you, even in a game forum.
