Spectral Throw with Point Blank?
I already got Iron Grip, and thinking of heading toward Point Blank keystone.
My Spectral Throw build mostly focuses on attack speed and strength, and avoiding going long distances (hence I dropped faster projectiles earlier on). I also fight mobs mostly head-on (with the exception of Brutus/Kole since I am keeping a bit of distance form them) I am wondering if Point Blank would benefit me since my projectiles does not travel out far? Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

I think Point Blank is currently bugged, your projectiles work normally when fired but do some non-damage on return. Guess that's because damage drops during the whole flight duration instead of properly accounting for distance to point of origin.
Anyway, PB works with distance traveled to apply bonus, so it doesn't matter if your projectiles go faster or slower. This is a speculation but I guess it uses flight time for calculating damage and if your projectile speed gets increased then the time factor will get reduced for the same amount so distance ends up the same. Probably a coding limitation and the reason it's currently bugged with spectral throw. " So I should just leave Point Blank alone for the time being? I made this thread since I wanted to know if it is a good idea to have PB for ST. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

I took PT to try, not still convinced, not sure if working well as said above.

wondering as well
I know that projetile (chained for example) dmg with PB is determined by distance travelled, but it looks to me that Spectral throw ones deal the same dmg on their way back as when they start (when standing still attacking). When I move back after throw they seem to deal only little dmg on their way back.. Im confused :) Anyone knows ST PB behavior? IGN: Eric_Lindros

It would be really nice to know, happy for any information, maybe I could test it myself sometime.

They just updated the skill description to better describe how it works with Spectral Throw. Damage drops the farther the projectile travels, so it keeps losing damage as it returns.

Really feels like Point Blank should be redesigned. Its just seemingly mediocre and waaaaay to specific in terms of who/what can use it. Should just scrap it and replace it with something else.
I'm willing to bet its not used very much at all, and that a lot of the people that use it are only using it because they misunderstood/misread the keystone description. Last edited by Cipherrr#1974 on Dec 28, 2013, 8:46:25 PM

" Oh, it's used all right, and you don't have to be a tank archer to do it. You can put the gem on a totem to offset its damage penalty, totems are notoriously bad at kiting so it mostly will be at point blank :) Or you can make a trap, RoA trap with point blank will give you two multipliers which will double your damage. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
