there you have it folks

Alt-f4 confirmed working as intended

Time for QQing softcore players to man up and issue an apologie to hardcore players who used this valid game mechanic.
Please refrain from insulting or antagonizing other players, further posts of this nature will be removed and the account in question placed on probation.

Maybe my explanation in the Raptr Q&A isn't optimal (I answered over 100 questions rapidly), but I stand by our reasoning that causes us to allow people to drop instantly.

We want our fights to have large swings of damage and to cause a rush of adrenaline in the player. If the game didn't allow you to drop instantly then we'd have to dumb down the fights so much. We've tried it.

I'm not a hardcore player, but for what it's worth I think there's least as much of an adrenaline rush in a fight when you know you are cornered and must win or die (even if you know how to stay alive as long as you don't make a mistake) as there is in suddenly encountering some unwinnable situation where you must flee or die (but fleeing is always an option).

whats the deal with alt f4 if u from everybody else use it the most .

When someone builds a hc build he doesnt consider alt f4 , guess who does? Yep the ones with 999 bazillions dps and 2k hp.

Now lets go to the actual topic

Alt f4 is a legit way of escape and yes the possibility of doing it on danger allows you to play more recklessly and go hard with bosses , you never have these insane bosses in open areas or whatever but they are in seperate chambers and distinct places and u can choose to avoid them anyway. Portaling to the town then is supposed to be even worse then since u can return to the place you left without losing progression , oh please gtfo and get some brains , alt f4 is primarily a way to close the client and then one to get away from bad situations like desync lags or even connection losses caused from you , no game can ever be that perfect to avoid them and that shouldnt stop players from playing on hardcore neither it shouldnt make sc even easier by making it even more mindless grindfest than it already is. Go check D3 with their amazing feature , they are Blizzard and have so much monies right? Yet less than 5 % of the playerbase plays hc because of the lag and dcs.

>< if u play hardcore and alt+f4 ... its not hardcore...

i play softcore because i find it fun to jump into the center of hordes often... its just how i play... i died 1512 times on my lvl 80 guy, cause its fun...

hardcore is lame, not dying is lame... alt+f4 is wuss style

Diablo invented the word "hardcore" and you could alt f4, tp to town, esc exit. I can tell the way you are talking you only play softcore.

You are saying it's fun to die 1500 times, which sure, it might be to some. I doubt it's fun when you are trying to make it to the top of a ladder, or win a race, or farm as much as you can because you only have 1 hour before you have to be to work.

This is the difference between "mature gamers" and children.

The truth is, mostly adults play hardcore. And mostly younger teens play softcore. I'm not saying it's 100% each. But mostly.

You are complaining that as a hardcore player I should not be allowed to alt+f4 out of the game is just stupid. You get to die 1500 times and play like a moron. But I'm not allowed to hit alt+f4 every blue moon to save my character that I've probably spent more time gearing/leveling than yours.
Useless thread is useless.

The ability to exit instantly seems to improve the game experience more than hurt it, particularly for hardcore players, and Chris wants it to stay available, so it shall stay.
ok so many annoying, "elitist", "you are scrubcore" posts here, I had to drink 2 glasses of water to avoid exploding with rage.

as a player in HC (and SC as well) who never used or will use ALT+F4 (and I've paid for it. a lot more than once), I am disgusted by your posts.

you use it?
well, play however you want to.
I won't tell you otherwise.

but the problem I see with Chris acknowledging this gameplay method, is they might actually balance the game around it - thereby screwing me over.

and if you think any complaint against ALTF4 is illegitimate, or go as far as call people complaining "scrubs" - you make a bad name to HC players everywhere.

damn, I need another glass.

Why are there so many player crying about how OTHER PLAYERS PLAY? Please GGG don't give into these players that are concerned about how other players play. 'It's not fair that I don't do this but other players can.' These player are the destroyers of games.

I have seen hate on Sporkers, summoners, IIR/IIQ, Alt-F4, monitor size, full game wipes, these are just off the top of my head. I am tired of a small vocal group of players claiming they speak for everyone, getting mad about other players play styles. I am sure that most gamers never post on the forums and are not concerned with how other players play.

Please don't give in to these control freaks that have destroyed other games. Once you give in and change what they are currently crying about, they will always find new play styles that other players are doing to cry about.

It is not about about the current issue about how other players are playing, it is that they want to control other peoples lives and are using any means they can find to do so. If they don't like Alt-F4, noting is forcing them to use it, yet them cry about OTHER player, most of whom they will nave know or play with. That is a big red flag not to listen when someone is concerned with how someone else plays within the rules of the game...
