Does MF work with DoT?
I remember reading that IIQ and IIR did not work with damage over time attacks, like burning and viper strike. Has this been fixed?

i dont think they admitted it was 'broken', as in it was purposefully designed to not work on DoT skills
cannot recall where i read that sorry edit: actually heres an old thread where it's stated they were thinking of possibly implementing the effect for DoT http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/14698 but thats quite old (last december) and i'm pretty sure i've read something else mid-this year where they said it wont work on degen effects. IIQ and IIR on gear have always worked with kills from DoT.
IIQ and IIR support gems apply on hit, and thus can't affect kills from DoT. Our position on this has not changed - we'd still like to find a way to let them apply. I have a plan which theoretically might work to test at some point, but this is far from a high-priority issue. | |
good to know that there is a difference.

Now that the IIQ and IIR skill gems are a HUGE boost to Magic Find (since those stats were removed from many items) I feel this is an even bigger issue than before since loot hunting IS arpgs endgame. But I'll roll with the punches, I know the game mechanics fairly well. I'm the Ps guy: Psomm, Pso, Psong, pso-on and pso-phorth.
