What is the best alternative to the bringer of rain and soul taker until we get enought to buy those?

Got the same question i started a new duelist in domniation with that guide in mind and i am currently starting in cruel and i must say ofc trough lacking gear i have terrible mana problems especially on Boss fights where there are no or only few adds which dont refill my flasks fast enough i ended up basicly auto attacking Vaal from 50% cause i was oom i have the unique paua ring that gives a bit of int and mana but thats ofc a really low lvl item and its not enoug. But im also not willing to spend "money" on items i can replace in 10 minutes if im lucky and the right thing drops.

Oh and at which level are you supposed to start running auras? I mean i cant afford them anytime soon is my guess im at ~250 mana with 900 life

I find that mana is a lot bigger of an issue with this build, especially if you don't have BoR or soul taker (obviously no problems with this), and would love if someone came up with a great solution to it.

With both grace and hatred running, even with some a moderate amount of +int and mana, your mana pool is only around ~100. If you are running dual strike in a 5-L armor with melee splash/multistrike/melee physical damage/and faster attacks or added fire than your mana cost is like 50-60 with a leveled dual strike. My damage is noticeably lessened as some regular attacks go off sometimes as my character is out of mana somewhat often.

The main difference is the melee splash gem in the combo has a huge mana multiplier (180%), which is what bring the mana up so much.

Right now it seems that the primary solution is to slot in a blood magic gem instead of faster attacks or added fire on the 5-L (or 6-L if you are rich, but then you should just have a BoR). I've noticed that with just 4 linked gems, I have enough mana regen with leech (2%) to support the combo, so rather than slotting the blood magic (and losing life to cast it), I put in an item quantity to get a bit better loot, but this is not ideal and I would much rather slot another damage gem if someone can neatly solve the mana problem without paying for a super high end item.

hi 2P have you tried using a ming's heart with this build?
Which potions do you prefer?
^ What potions would you say for levelling and endgame and if you could explain the reason for choosing them :).
If anyone is familiar enough with the passive tree I'd love some feedback on my ele version of this build. For you pure phys guys, what is your tooltip cyclone dps? Just trying to get an idea.

Hey x2p.

I agree that Multistrike+cyclone desych like not tommorow but for my subpar gear thanks to Multi I could facetank Pieti on Merciless(got 2900 dps with multistrike) Without it i was way way less comfortable to kill her(2600 dps) I use binded \oos command and that helps a lot. Prolly thanks to 6 hits per spin i could leach life way way faster then not using multi.

Its hard to control char with cyc+mutli but its manageable. Also tried switch the cyclone for dual strike before boss fight and also it works good, but not always there is time for that.
I recomend also use second Cast on dmg taken to cast Molten shield. Its adds a lot of armor.
is resolute technique node so important?

Cast on Damage Taken
This skill is absolutely amazing for this build. You have many options with this. My preferred is a decoy totem, a curse, and a buff. Put these on RRRB gloves or boots.

Right now I run my gem setup as follows:
Cast on Damage Taken, Decoy Totem, Enduring Cry, Enfeeble.

This means each time I am hit I cast a fresh decoy totem and enfeeble all monsters while refreshing my endurance charges. You can change the curse to whatever suits you best. If you lack mana leech and life leech on gear, you can use Warlords Mark as your curse.

DO NOT LEVEL UP CAST ON DAMAGE TAKEN! - Leveling the skill itself causes the amount of damage you must take before it casts to rise a lot, meaning less curses, less totems, less charges. You can however level the skills it supports.

Auras - Our Primary Auras are Grace and Hatred. Put these on a GGR weapon. These must be supported by a reduced mana gem to be able to use both simultaneously.

We use grace as it is the single strongest source of armor for us via aura. It gives us a large chunk of evasion which gets converted to armor thanks to Iron Reflexes.

Hatred is about 25% of our total damage. It scales based off of your physical damage, so it is better than any other elemental aura for us.

We can swap hatred for purity on tough maps with elemental weakness if we must. We do not need purity for resist cap as the build is so close to so many resist nodes if we need them.

MY SITUATION:

I want to do the above, I really do. I am now managing (with Blood Magic) to cast Dual Strike all day erry day with Grace. I know I need to get Hatred leveled with a reduced mana gem for the dual auras but what I don't understand is where the mana for Cast On Hit mechanic comes from...

Is this ALSO Blood Magic? And if so won't my health be severely impacted?
