I told Qarl I'd provide some feedback on this skill. Rather than type it all out, I knocked out 2 birds with one stone by putting together a video with commentary explaining the skill and how I decided to use, as well as a short clip of the skill in action.

The shield really isn't a necessity, but it does help a lot. Until I was able to afford it, I used this and was fine - just remember an ES buffer is useless without it, so you'll want to focus your gear more on armor and not worry about ES at all: Former player moderator, valued poster, and early-adopter responsible for The Blood Dance.
