Im attempting to run the 4.0x client on my 10.7 machine. Why is it only able to use the HAL 3d instead of my AMD card?

Edit: My machine died today... Sad story :/ looks like no PoE for at least 6-8 months till I can save up some money for a new rig.

GPU name detection is little bit flaky, so it gives the HAL 3d name if it cant find your card in wine database, but it should work anyway.

As for the dead computer. Give it to someone skilled to analyse, maybe just some stupid thing died which can be easily replaced. (for example, if you have bogus ram modules, machine wont start at all, but replacing isn't that expensive (about 70 euros for 8GB ram). Even systemboard repair is possible if you know someone who have specialization in this...
Ever since the patch came out a few days ago the game has become unplayable. everything is out of sync and it's lagging uncontrollably. is anyone else having this issue and any chance of it being fixed soon?

Thanks!
Thanks for the unofficial port. I will try it (Core i3@AMD HD5670 on OS X 10.8.4).

Can you upgrade the binary using the latest Wine build: 1.6.0 (stable) or 1.7.0 (development) ?

thanks

PS: working with avg 30 fps with default settings.

great :)

I just want to say, THANK YOU! I got a new macbook air in hopes of being able to play some games while studying with portability and this port has made it possible :)
Hello Everyone, I recently downloaded this MAC port yesterday (thank you for making it) and I got it working, i've been playing through the game and it runs well on smaller maps, but it drops in frame rate majorly when larger groups of monsters come or in bigger maps. What is the best settings for it to run more smoothly on bigger maps?

My specs are standard for a late 2011 Macbook Pro

Processor: 2.4GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
MAC OS X Lion 10.7.5.

Thanks in advance :)

The game performance has deteriorated. Currently the best way to play the game is through bootcamp.

Aww that sounds sad man, does this mean you are through with the port? If so, that's a real bummer. I hope you weren't put off by all the grumpy ass users! I have been using your ports since jan 23 and you really saved a lot of us, so thanks again as always! Hope you're still on board, cheers!

I am not trough with port. Just I can't currently properly update it (issues with Mavericks).
But I am trough searching for solution hack and so... I spent really much time hacking wine code leading to nothing.

Hopefully, now when optimize guy is onboard on GGG team, things will go better.
That's great to hear. All of use Mac users owe you mounds of gratitude. I have high hopes for tomorrow's performance patch. Take care!
