Character Sheet preview before Passives confirmed!!!
What I mean is this:
Say I have been saving 2-3 pts deciding where to head next on my tree, or what to commit to, or say I want to spend some regrets to get 5 points back, and I can't decide which new direction to go with my 5 points. Perhaps I want to see what the effect is on my character sheet (damage, defensive rating, etc.) based on my current stats and gear before I 100% commit to spending the points. We need a way to preview our character sheets and see the offensive and defensive readings before we commit to actually spending passive points. This has become an issue for me because I don't want to spend 3 points on 3x Armor nodes without knowing what the change will be, concretely. Will it be a 2% boost to my damage reduction, or a 10% boost? Maybe I can take the Armor nodes, and swap out some gear with high armor but crappy mods...but I need to be able to preview this before I commit! I have no problem with the skill tree being semi-permanent and having to re-roll a charcter if I do a poor job of building it, but when you are level 70+ and have some options about what to invest in next, it makes sooooo much sense to be able to quantify your ideas EASILY (without having to open excel or grabbing a calculator) before committing. Also, if I spend 20 Orb of Regrets to make a big change to my tree, I should be able to preview what the changes will be! I took the time to grind the orbs to make the change...I shouldn't have to grind another 10-20 in case I am not happy with the change. How to implement? Perhaps you could make it that you can only spend points in town, and any changes in your tree have to be finalized before you leave town or the points just reset back to the last confirmed passive tree. That way you can play with your points, exit passive tree, look at character sheet, maybe swap gear and see what further changes may take place, and THEN decide if you actually want to spend the points there permanently. For such a rich skill system to not have an ability to preview changes to our offensive and defensive numbers is a shame. That said, please keep up the great work! I agree with the OP.
With the recent skill reset due to PoE officially releasing, I find myself wanting to try an evasion/melee build again(Crazy huh?). During the closed beta I had a dual claw Shadow evasion character and by Act II cruel it became clear to me that my character was destined to die 1000s of times. I still have 56 points left to assign for my lvl 82 crit dagger Shadow. I think I'll wait for the OP's suggestion to become a reality, before I finish assigning my remaining 56 passive skill points. Giving this a bump instead of creating my own. Would really want this. At least give us the Char Sheet changes before committing selected passives.

Perhaps you should look at where you want to go and which nodes are most valuable to you, instead of how a few nodes will look like. Just saying.
