Confused about Iron Reflexes
Hello guys,
Im a bit confused about Iron Reflexes. I know that in the past Iron Reflexes first rolled the +% Evasion to all the Evasion gear and then the +% Armour would be rolled over that. I also know that this is changed. But how does it work now? Is it that Evasion is just being seen as an Armour type of gear and that +% Evasion is the same as +% Armour? So lets say you have an evasion chest of 500 and +50% evasion & +50% armour in the tree. Does this mean the piece of gear is being rolled as 500 + 100%? And were that piece to be an armour type of gear would it still be the +100%? Or only the +50% from the armour nodes? Postcount +1

Evasion base would get +100%, armour base would only get +50%. What changed is that previously evasion also got the bonus increase dexterity provided (iirc +6% per 30 dexterity), that was removed. So increased evasion from other sources than dex still applies, only the dex bonus was removed.

ok...
So armour type of gear would only get the 50% from the armour nodes and evasion would get 100% (armour and evasion nodes). And what about hybrid gear? The armour piece of it would only get 50% and the evasion part 100%? (and i didnt mean the dexterity bonus btw, before the evasion gear would first get the evasion bonus from the tree and after that the armour bonus) Postcount +1

Armour/Evasion Hybrid with IR:
As Armour: [Base Armour * ( 1 + Armour%)] + [Base Evasion * ( 1 + Armour% + Evasion%)] Two caveats: Firstly, as already mentioned Evasion converted by IR does not get the bonus Evasion% from Dexterity. Secondly, passive nodes with grant both Armour% & Evasion% only get counted once for Evasion converted by IR. 99% of suggested changes would make the game easier. Thats why only 1% of suggested ideas are even worth considering.

Thats what I wanted to know...
So in short that means u gain the most armour with evasion only gear as it profits from armour and evasion nodes. Armour gear only profits from armour nodes and armour evasion divides the piece up and rolls the % then... Thx guys Postcount +1

"For the record, that has never been the case. IR has always been a conversion, meaning that the converted property is affected by increases to both. It's never applied one, then applied the other, as that would turn an additive increase into a multiplicative one. | |
" Maybe I am slow or something but can you explain to me: Why is pure evasion better then hybrid? I don't get it. I have gear with 1 armor and 1 evasion and I have a node that give +100% to armor and evasion. Then I would assume (probably wrong) that I get 2 armor and 2 evasion. Evasion then gets converted and I have 4 armor right? I don't see the difference in having gear with 2 evasion? I would get 4 evasion that gets converted into 4 armor no? Or does evasion first convert and the + armor & evasion applies after that? So 1 armor and 1 evasion will become 2 armor x 100% is 4 armor? 2 evasion will become 2 armor x 100% is 4 armor? In both situations I don't see the difference, what am I missing here? Last edited by Startkabels#3733 on Jul 25, 2013, 4:50:26 PM

pure evasion has higher base values on some items:
zodiac leather vs glorious plate: 609 vs 5xx same goes for the highest tier helms. i think thats all. as Mark_GGG pointed out armor and evasion nodes are both similar strong (in case they have the same % ofc). hybrid nodes only get counted once.
