Possible improvements to [HARDCORE RACE]
Firstly I have not played any hardcore race yet due to the timing 9am NZ = 5am SG :/ hopefully they could schedule a easier timing for Asia players.
However I'm still pretty hyped about the event and would try to read up on the news and results. Ok so now the suggestion I'm making: [TL:DR] - Introduced a point system to determine winnners instead of outright XP ranking [/TL:DR] Now for the details: Award players points for completing objectives: - Reaching a area, clearing monster, killing boss/uniques - Players still get points for finishing tops in XP - Winners determined by total points (XP + Objectives) I think this idea might encourage more possibilities and strategies. It makes sense to reward players who take risks compared to someone who stay in a safe location and grind for xp. This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

To add on, the points could be used to calculate the rewards for participating in the event. The reward ratio could be easily adjusted for different events but the scoring system remains uniformed.
For example a reward ratio of 10% means 10% of the total points earned will be converted to currency. A bigger event with a larger reward ratio might attracted more participants compared to a smaller event with a smaller reward ratio. Lastly, points for completing objectives should not only be earned for the first player but for every other player as well. Naturally the first player get additional points too. If this does get implemented, a smarter player who takes good risk should win another player who grinds mindlessly despite having slightly lesser XP at the end. |
