Change Hardcore Death To Reborn

* On Hardcore, a character killed move to the parent non-hardcore league.

Suggestion: Reborn

When a hardcore character died, it don`t move to Standard/parent league. It stay in hardcore but it's level revert/reborn to level 1. This way the player only lose time/progression/effort but the character and items remain in hardcore league.

GGG can add a quest where the dead character will be put in Limbo, will duel and must defeat the Death Ripper before the character is revive. GGG may also add Deaths column in Ladder stats.

Pros:
- hardcore death is not too painful, especially to desync :)
- character can start from scratch and continue progress.
- may attract more players to try HC.

Cons:
- your character is under-leveled with gems and items.

Uh... The entire point of HC permadeath is losing the levels AND the items.
It is also how HC economy is self-cleaning.

However, a Limbo map with a Grim Reaper boss would be awesome in SC:
-Level of the map based on your char level. It's not meant to be easy.
-Only exp gained in all the map is given by killing the Grim Reaper, and only as much as the exp lost (or a % of it).
-0% base quantity. Not matter how much IIQ you have there won't be any drops.
-Portals disabled. Only way to get out is logging out (and losing all exp).
-Ofc, if you die in Limbo, you get back to the camp and suck up the penalty.

Pros:
-Chance to get back your exp.
-Dieing now presents a choice: Spend the time getting back the exp (if you can!) or lose the instance.
-Zerging is now more annoying.

Very creative
You don't lose lvls you just go to default anyways, HC is still hard for people that worry about dying and don't want to play SC but easier for people that have no problem playing SC.

Going back to lvl 1 with a char would only eliminate the need for making a new char that's all there is to it.

I wouldn't want my HC char to stay there after death and make me start over, i rather play it in SC and make a new HC char. Maybe they can make a league, or when custom leagues are implemented we can do this ourselves.
I like the Limbo Map idea for Softcore. +1

Perhaps it could be as simple as defeat the Grim Reaper(or his minion friends to keep it fresh) and only lose no xp. If you lose, you rise in town having lost the normal amount of xp.

It should be a quick dialogue and then fight. It will be annoying enough to have to fight Death or his minions each time you die, so you don't want to make it into some huge zone.

This would also be a great added penalty for death. Perhaps enough so that the xp penalty could be reduced slightly.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul...

- I liked the mechanics of your Limbo with Grim Reaper.

Anyways, maybe my general idea of Reborn is not so hardcore :)

The whole point of dying in hardcore is to lose your character and items. Changing this defeats the purpose of having a hardcore league.
Remember when I won a screenshot contest and made everyone butt-hurt? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
+1 for SC Reaper map on death.

I'd settle for Ghost mode.

You keep your character in Hardcore but you can't do anything with it. You can't remove items or go out into instances - you just get to wander around the towns & chat in a slightly ethereal form. The purpose? A form of monument or memory to the character that once was.
99% of suggested changes would make the game easier. Thats why only 1% of suggested ideas are even worth considering.
That's a really cool idea Faerindel.
