Increased Item Rarity and skills with dots
Is the bonus rarity from the support gem included if the enemy dies to the dot part of the skills instead of the actual damage when the hit land?
This is for the dot applied by skills like poison arrow, puncture and viper strike. |

From equipment - yes.
From support gem - no. This is my understanding from GM responses, but I'm not 100% sure so get a 2nd opinion. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

Thanks for the answer.
Then this would also mean that, with the lightning arrow, it wouldn't apply if the damage that killed the enemy is one of the 2 extra enemies that the skill hits? And the ice arrow? Enemies killed by the aoe part wouldn't have the increase? |

AoE still counts as "hit", works with gems.

" If this is the case, then I would consider this as a bug. No matter how enemy dies, on hit or from viper strike, I should still get the bonus from increased rarity support gem. |

" It is a bug but is currently unfixable due to the way DoT is applied, devs are aware of this and it will get addressed eventually, it's not high on priority list, though. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

" " This. Bit of clarification: the Support Gems apply to Hits caused by the linked Skill, similar to Blind and Life Gain on Hit. Generally anything that is a flat amount of Damage counts as a Hit. Flat Damage based on a percentage (ex. Detonate Dead) is still flat Damage and does trigger on-Hit. Culling counts as well. Damage over Time does not Hit, so it cannot trigger on-Hit effects. (while the IIR/Q Supports apply to all Hits, they of course only have an effect when it's the killing blow) |
