How is this scraping the barrel?

It's scraping the barrel because "D3 & Tl2's instanced loot system slows down the pace of the game" was said by no one, ever.

If you want to try & pull the 'immersion' & realms card then let me ask you this:

How do you deal with the immersion aspect of general chat? How about by going up to a board in town you are magically sent so someone else's realm that you couldn't see before? Does it break your immersion when you exit an area & by ctrl clicking you make a new version where all the monsters you just killed are respawned?

Immersion is scraping the barrel.

No. It's not. Having loot drop on the ground right in front of you, but you cannot see is moronic. As Dale said, are you all playing different universes?

It's slows down the pace, because what if I'm looking for RGB links, whoch I often am. My teammate will then have to pick up and drop every fucking one. That is clearly slowing down the pace.

I don't play in public parties hammer, because often, I'm doing all the work, and its terribly inefficient.

Will only do so when bored.

Onoes, teamwork! Would you use this option in your private party? Nope... Would people use it in public parties to remove the bickering, increase pace and generally avoid tools? Yes. They cannot introduce instanced loot without giving options. At least there's no way I see them doing that.

Then you probably can't give very accurate suggestions seeing as how you don't see the problems on a daily basis.

No, actually he doesn't have to do that, not unless you're watching his screen. That's part of the beauty of instanced loot! :)
What if ffa subtly rewards people who make friends? single player is fine too, but friends can share suitable drops for their classes and ignore assignees.

What if its more exciting because you need to pay attention to what falls while fighting? even if you're with friends and not competing for loot, you still want to see before something disappears

Why was d2 so much better then d3? what if its because instanced loot changed and other game systems had to be adjusted? mainly more items need to fall overall to keep up risk/reward system - and that meant all sorts of negative things for balancing that sucked

what if you really only interact with the other player in 3 ways. what you type, what you kill, and what you loot. dropping 1/3 of interaction would certainty make a difference?

ffa system allows some players to be mean to others, but some of the best games ever allowed for PKers and much worse. it could be argued that those negative elements were necessary parts of what made those games great.

So Instanced= single player. Gotcha

And this is exactly why they'd need options. FFA works for you, you and Xikorut don't need loot allocation, or at least not much. But if you started playing in public games often, you'd find that FFA is crap there, even with timers.

Also, you say it would slow you down, I'd argue that looking through half the loot would speed you up, even if he's grabbing specific loot for you.

I'd wager that to most people it's FFA which translates into single player. And I honestly think that if you had to place a bet on it, you would do the same.

I'm with you here, there's no way FFA is singleplayer and instanced loot isn't. Although instanced definitely encourages people strangers to play with eachother more than FFA does.
