Trading Suggestion

I've been thinking about trading.

I had a simple solution which kinda embraces what we already do.

Everyone gets a public stash tab, just 1 where you put items that you want to trade off. Then this website gets something similar to poe.xyz that searches these tabs. It's the same system we have now, just less items to deal with.

Ways to enhance it:

People can buy more trade tabs from microtransactions

You can trade on website

B/Os up to 1 gcps can be placed on items for quick transactions when both people aren't online. More expensive items require negotiating

If GGG has the time/money this feature gets built into the social panel in the game

I would have more to say but I just woke up. It's an idea I've had for like a week now, figured I'd share it.

the day automatic buytouts are implemented is the day the d3 auction house system is in effect... aka the day i quit... the market for low items, and eventually even medium items, would be destroyed...

the rest looks ok i guess...

I agree, let's keep the human interaction intact as well.

how it should be...
* you have a public stash tab, which can be searched
* you can place bids on items (or currency stacks) in other players stash tabs
* currency bids only... bidding consumes bid... its refunded if bid is retracted or denied... currency mixtures okay
* no buyouts ever
* you can view, accept, or deny (clear) any bid on items in your public stash at any time
* you can view or retract your bids on other items at any time

the two big evils here are buyouts and auction deadlines... those wouldn't exist under the suggested system...

I had wrote a bunch of stuff but it comes down to this.
Yes we need an easier way to basically create a thread for selling items. I like the idea of just dropping certain items in a certain stash tab. Which is actually an extremely nice way to sell customizable stash tabs. Name your stash tab 1 alch and immediately the person searching it knows exactly how much you want for the item and you do not have to keep playing price maker for each item.

We need a price bible. Simple as that selling and buying items is made way easier once a base price has been established. This should be easy to access knowledge probably pinned in each trade section actually.

Uhh what, somehow forcing people to log in at the same time is not? It's buyout that makes RMAH simulators... That has to be the silliest thing i've ever read.

The market for low/med items is destroyed already if you haven't noticed. What exactly would give new players convenience of shopping cheap stuff faster hurt?

One can be for or against AH, for or against suggestions, but seriously saying quality of life/convenience Moos suggested is making it D3 is beyond excessive.
I don't know. maybe I just didn't understand your idea Moosifer, but it just seems to be too prone for exploitation for my taste.
especially the "offline transaction/trade on website" part.

there is a very good reason why stuff like the anti-scamming mechanism exist in the trade window.
the one which makes you mouse over and review the item, before you can click "accept".

and while I like the idea of dropping items into tabs very much, I think all transactions should not only occur in-game, but also have the same "mouse over to confirm" thing on both sides.

also, the "want to buy" part has to be addressed, so the search needs to be exceptionally good.
so good, it can answer a "WTB armour" query, with results taken not only from tabs named "armour".
Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat
Shadow: That was fun

Oh, I guess it happened in CB. Chris teased us saying we'll be able to trade through the website, they have some plans that are taking forever to filter down. I assume they wouldn't put it in if it wasn't secure.

My two main things are having a poe.xyz builts into the website and then public tabs. The public tabs is something GGG said would come and we already have xyz so I feel it shouldn't be too hard to get that going quickly before adding other things.

The rest of my things can be ignored, just ease of use shit. Low price items for b/o, which most people seem to be against is like what DeathDiciple said. It's one thing to hunt someone down for kaoms or something, but playing PM tag or chasing some flaky guy down for a 1 chaos item is annoying as shit. Usually you settle for something like that because you want it now, not 3-4 days later when you could have farmed enough to buy something better.
