Is it legal to play in windowed mode with a custom aspect ratio to see more?

I have a question regarding the legality of modifying the game’s aspect ratio by playing in windowed mode and manually reducing the height of the window to increase the horizontal field of view.

Would this be considered an exploit or a violation of the game's terms of service? I want to make sure that adjusting the window size in this way is allowed before using it.

Terms of Use applies to both PoE1 and PoE2 and modifying the game files is a breach.

I just want to clarify that I was not referring to modifying the game files in any way. My question was simply about playing in windowed mode and manually adjusting the window height to change the aspect ratio.

Since this is done purely through the game's built-in settings and standard window resizing, I wanted to confirm whether this is considered acceptable or against the rules.

As that wouldn't let you bypass any aspect ratio limitations (you'll get black bars on the sides if you try to stretch it too wide) that shouldn't be an issue, but I suspect the game would be easier to play if you just played at your monitor's resolution.

Off-topic, maybe you can add an option to the game to allow seeing more, like in wider aspect ratios. If you don’t have resources for it, could you at least confirm that changing the resolution and using a non-standard aspect ratio through built-in options is 100% legit?

Playing in windowed mode and adjusting the size/shape manually by dragging the window borders is perfectly fine and OK. I have tried it out myself but didn't like it :)
