Bog Shaman's Fell Fen + CI

The node said "Chaos resistance is zero"
CI = "Immune to chaos damage"

So if by using this node + CI, you'd bypass the downside of the node.
While it's not totally great since you can't reduce the resistance to negative, but there are other damage compensations similar to shock.

I probably won't play Bog Shaman since it seems to required so much gears to make it work.
But with enough investment I believe it's amongst the top tier ascendancies.

Yes - but it feels like a lot of Bog Shaman's power is linked to life, so CI limits what you can do. Getting Original Sin as an ascendancy is pretty big, so there are probably CI builds that could take Bog Shaman just for that.

What else do we take? Vile Imprecations -> Rotten Core for added chaos damage from mana costs, and I guess we can wield Voltaxic Rift to convert lightning (from Archmage or Manabond) to chaos? (That works, right? No matter how many times I try to learn, I can never remember which weapon mods are local vs. global.)

I guess Venom Drinker + Vile Imprecations + Toad Pact are all just generally good nodes.

A life stacker popped out to me:
  • Fell Fen - set enemies' chaos resistance to 0
  • Sanguine Power - remove all ES, gain life instead of ES from armor
  • Nightblood - skills gain 25% of base mana cost as base life cost, self-cast spells gain 80% of life cost as added physical damage
  • The Covenant body armor - more max life + level 29 Added Chaos Damage support + skills gain 100% of base mana cost as base life cost
  • A source of Unholy Might to convert 100% of physical damage to chaos damage: Sin's Rebirth flask, Shadows and Dust gloves, cluster jewel with Overwhelming Malice
  • alternatively, put together high phys -> chaos conversion from other sources
  • Eventually The Burden of Shadows staff, giving spells 15% of max life as added chaos damage
  • other life stacking stuff
  • do very little damage and die a lot, because I'm bad at making builds
You can also take Pandemic without downside if you use CI.
I'd take Eerie silence to have such a nice damage boost, instead of vile imprecations.

Now I want to actually play Bog Shaman the more I think.
