thanks to give us poe2 to show us how good is poe1 ....!!!!

after 2 month of poe2, came back to poe1 and ..... wat a huge blast !!!!!
except graphics,poe2 is pure garbage compared to poe1 (craft, builds, skills and support gems, items synergy,speed,loot,etc,etc,etc....and also trade)

but ,ggg, why didn't u just add more campaign acts and upgrade graphics in poe1 ...?????
u lost a huge opportunity to make something unique in game history....
learning is a painful process ... knowledge is the most deadly weapon.

Yet no one plays it, and for good reason.

Even the unofficial pohx private league with barely any annoucement and no changes got ~25k players. What are you on about?

Or do you just not comprehend how seasonal games work?
I agree with the title, point taken and that's a win for GGG: poe1 has no competition right now.

Yet I do not follow on the global poe2 bashing and will recall about the why poe2 by reminding GGG statements about the poe1 engine limitations becoming a show stopper for evolution in terms on performances, graphics, and mechanics.

By now I understand most poe1 players being are worried about the future, I think GGG are too, they are midstream and can't go back. That's definitely not a win.

They made a call years ago going for poe2, I'm convinced this was the right call. Now they are facing a situation number of companies did not survive to (or just became a shadow of their former).
So I hope they will find their way out, this may last way longer than we'd like but wish them good luck.

More specifically, it hit the ceiling that private leagues allow (20K). You can't add more, and they hit it easily.
Thanks for all the fish!
yeah a streamer league, from Twitch profile i can see he has close to 180k followers, so 15% of that is the league limit. how is this small % of his fan base a measure/indication of anything related here is beyond me.

We will see how popular PoE 1 is when this event hits, and when 3.26 hits.

ONE streamer creates ONE private league WITHOUT any additional content - in a league environment that has been running for more than half a year - an hits max players in a few hours. How many percent of his viewership it is, is of course irrelevant, as a private league can't have more players.

PoE 1 will never beat PoE 2, because PoE 2 appeals to casual players - and there will always be a more casual players valuing graphics and pretty things, as well as easy-to learn mechanics. Just look at Diablo, it has always had more players than PoE. But I'm more than convinced that both the event and 3.26 will show us numbers, both in terms of players and sales that will justify prioritizing PoE 1 a little bit more than they have been doing.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
streamer's follower count is hardly a relevant metric. Rather look at mean viewer which would be around 1K for Pohx if I'm right.
This private has more than 30k players which suggests a success, and way beyond his audience. Plus should consider poe1 numbers are strongly cyclic usually minimal past 1 month after any league launch.

Yet will be hard to evaluate next events success considering the number and nature of newcomers to poe2, and their unknown porosity with poe1. I would not be surprised 3.26 launch setting a new high for poe1 numbers.
3.26 early retention compared to previous leagues will start to give some informations worth analyzing.

yeah but saying this wasn't promoted while guy has thousands eyes on him and some ppl will play any game he plays is a bit misrepresenting the situation. and while mean is 1k i don't think most ppl watch the entire thing, from what iknow these streams go on for 8-12h. and not everyone watches every single day neither. factor in that poe2 is in down tim enow waiting for content this is extremely skewed

to show what % of people that played poe1 prefer it over 2 you would need to release leagues with similar amount of content in both games in the same day, take numbers of poe1 and compare against last 3 leagues of poe1, gl doing that.

Exactly, this isn't something that can be properly discussed atm simply because the data doesn't exist. PoE2 had an incredibly impressive Day 1, it's nice to see so many people interested in ARPG's.
PoE2 is a great tutorial for PoE1.
