PoE2 randomly freezes my computer on loading screens or game boot

Don't worry, there's nothing malicious on that web page, but I cannot attach my dxdiag to this ticket.


The issue: During game boot or loading screens like moving from one map to another, the game freezes and also freezes my computer. The difference is, online traditional freezes which are 0 frames per second, I am being reduced to 1 frame per second, so the mouse cursor moves a little bit every second but the rest of the computer is unresponding. I cannot access the Windows menu, Task Manager or even to switch users (ctrl + alt + del).

Observation: The most I let it run like that was about 20 minutes with no sign of improvement.
If I am fast enough to alt+F4 the POE2 process in the first second after the freeze (if I even notice it), the computer will be unaffected.
From what I noticed, trying to shut down the game once frozen is impossible, and I am forced to shut down or restart the computer.
I tried my wife's Steam account but that didn't make any difference. It seems not to be account or character-specific.
Updating graphic drivers didn't change anything about the issue.

Please advise.

Same here, since this new patch sometimes i have to log in 3-4 times for the game to work as it freezes and i have to restart the pc. Sometimes i have time to modify the afinity and remove core 0 and 1 so that the cpu can end app process without restarting. But this is not normal, I mean this kills computers slowly. It is said in the patch notes that this was fixed but it only gotten worse. Please do something about it GGG. Thank you!

Today I tried entering the game, after I pick my character the game freezes and due to removing 2 cores it closes in about 15 seconds. 8 times in a row. Not sure if I want to open the game tonight again.

I have the same problem. but I learned that you can disable multithreading in options before loading in char or switching map, and I have not have a game crash since I started doing that.

CONSTANT crashes, so annoyed at this point.

there are several post about this with hundreds of replies and thousand of views. They have zero solution yet and really haven't even acknowledged this on the known bugs.
