Game Crash and PC Shutdown and can't turn on PC

Hello Exile Community,

I've been enjoying Path of Exile 2 for the past three days without any issues. However, after the latest update, I encountered a serious problem while playing on the "Mausoleum of the Praetor". Here's what happened:

- After about 5 minutes of playing on this specific area, my PC suddenly shut down and wouldn’t turn back on for some time.
- Once the PC rebooted, I tried running the area again, but the exact same issue occurred.
- This has now happened three times in total, and I've never experienced similar crashes with any other game (e.g., RDR2, Indiana Jones, Final Fantasy, Baldur’s Gate 3).

- GPU: ASUS TUF RX 7800 XT O16G OG GAMING
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Tray
- RAM: 32 GB

I’ve already verified game files and monitored system temperatures (no overheating issues detected). Other games and stress tests run without problems.

Has anyone else encountered similar issues after the recent update? Could this be a bug specific to the map or an optimization issue? Any advice or fixes would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I’ve had similar issues with the game, although for me it restarts and doesn’t just shut down.

I’m on a nvidea and have zero temperature issues that I can tell (monitoring it) the issues I’ve noticed is that this game uses my cpu way more than I think it should.
I’ve resorted to playing on my wife’s PC since she has crashes to desktop and it’s much rarer than my crashes. On her pc the cpu runs under 30% and doesn’t have the huge spikes when loading zones .
I wrote up my findings here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3650815

TLDR – are you using an XMP RAM profile? Tune it down a notch.
Thank you for your suggestions. However, my computer is no longer turning on at all, so I can't try any of the steps you mentioned. I'm sending my computer in for repairs to see what the issue might be. Let's see what happens.

I wish you luck. I have a feeling your RAM may be fried. There’s a whole thread on Reddit of people saying the game is frying their RAM
My pc keeps crashing as well i am getting the " exception [D3D12 Failed to create resource for texture] almost every time my game crashes . it has crashed at least 40x in past 3 days. Verry frustrating issue to have to say the least. Hope GGG can resolve this issue sooner than later. GGG KINDLY FIX UR GAME.
