arcane surge and srs

I realize arcane surge is not a great minions support gem, but playing ruthless and so far the only one I've found capable of supporting minions in any meaningful way -- I've got it linked to summon skellies and SRS. I can see that I gain the arcane surge buff as expected, that's fine. But can I assume that the SRS will not do more damage because -- although technically a spell -- their damage does not scale off of spell damage?

They don't scale with spell dmg.

You'll find something eventually. Speed clearing lower areas can help for finding supports if you get stuck. Haven't played any ruthless settlers, but sending ore to one of the ports in normal settlers give support gems, that might be worth a try. Bismuth to Ngakanu. Might not be as efficient, but I heard shipping was relatively decent in Ruthless. Looks like you've managed to find some decent gear.

I've managed to find a couple in the meantime, I'm just not a particularly good or speedy player. But the supports I have found seem nice for other builds, so I've made a few alts and am just enjoying the campaign so far. My necro will be finishing it soon I guess, with some luck, haven't died yet!
Is there a way to see what you get from shipping what to whom? Sometimes I get items, sometimes low-level currency. But I suppose I should investigate the town more systematically... ;)

There's a 3 to 1 support gem vendor recipe in ruthless for support gems of the same colour to get a random one back. Since your playing alts and sounds like your going to be playing the mode a fair bit probably best to just hold on to them, but if you do start stacking up multiples or ones you don't think you'll need it might be usefull.

This data is not applicable to ruthless.
While it is hard to test everything -- especially since the failure rate of shipping in ruthless is extremely higher, I mean EXTREMELY -- sending Bismuth to Ngakanu does not yield support gems. (And although I have not tested it, obviously sending verisium does not and cannot yield stacked decks, since all cards are drop disabled in ruthless, and there is noone to turn them in to anyhow.)

Makes sense. Would be a bit overpowered.

They are suggesting verusium to podium might give skills/supports. I wonder if it can give auras or not, that was the main limiter I found when playing ruthless, finding first aura. I see what your saying though, that this might not be that useful where your characters are at. Delve is a possibility from memory, I seem to remember getting some good gem drops there, although I ran quite a few nodes so maybe that was at deeper levels beyond campaign. Ritual might also be something to try, if you can do these contents safely, not always the best for HC. With minion build there are a lot of minion skill gems that give buffs, even if you might not use them on a normal build with access to everything, keep any eye out on your alts, adding in some of those other minions might help until you find some of those supports for srs. Lab might also be useful for swapping gems, though I not familiar with the options you get in ruthless currently.
