Debian trixie on "older" Hardware - unplayable

Hi, i am wondering if this forum is also for support on linux or if thats useless?

I have a system (i7 6800, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd, amd 290x graphic) with debian trixie where its impossible to play, i have about 3fps, so i can not even change any settings.
On the exact same machine (dual boot), when i boot win11, all works perfectly fine, so the hardware should be enough to at least play the game (with low settings).
I can gather some information if linux support is relevant and considered.

Linux is never officially supported. So that try https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-forum/gameplay-discussion

The only official way to play this game on Linux is through Steam with the experimental Proton builds.

That GPU is too old, however - I doubt any modern Linux distro supports it nowadays.

You will want to get a whole new PC. SSD can (and should) be salvaged.
It'd be nice to not hard freeze. Just saying. YES I AM INSANE, ZANA! :>
Thanks for the answers. As mentioned, it works perfectly fine on windows 11, so i assume either its a bug (i read some topics about this bad performance problem since last PoE update) or the requirements for linux are way higher.
I tried different versions of Proton, inluding experimental, without success.

not sure what you mean with "I doubt any modern Linux distro supports it nowadays." - it works like a charm right now, only PoE does unfortunately not.
Its the old office machine from my mom, she only needs it for libreoffice. I installed out of curiosity win11 and it worked. Thought i could work with that machine without dual booting, coz i hate it to reboot just to play some time and then reboot to be on linux again to do some work.

edit: @Markus_GGG i tried to write to you because you moved the thread to technical support from bug reports. Thats what i tried to write to you:

hi, i am not sure if this is not a technical help issue but a bug.
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3586895
as mentioned, it works perfectly fine on windows but not on linux.

i found multiple users in the internet that the latest release of PoE is unplayable on linux or requires bleeding edge hardware.
