New player here, sttrugling on adapting the build to the end game

Hello, i started playing (excluding some small play, act 3 was the latest part of the game i reached other times ive played) this league, since im delusional i decided to create my own build, i wanted to play a scion, and i wanted to play the build around a holy/angel/divine theme, with the wiki, posts on the internet and the gems i found i ended up playign divine ire, and with time i ended up using some different stuff, the build kind of works, but is far from optimal or viable on the end game end game, normal bosses are fine, specially easy ones (incredible, right?) and t16 maps with most mods, i am running an atlas with the maven and usually doing guardian/conqueror maps and then doing the bosses, i like this, also juiced strats can give me some performance issues (old ass pc). Well, i am now struggling to find upgrades to the build without taking a whole rework into consideration excluding corruptions, since this ones are either unavaible on the market or extremely expensive. I've come to the forum since in PoB the dps/ehp increases on nodes and gear became either very small or unexistent, so with the huge amount of information in the game i see no other option that ask for help and tips, for example, i know that max resistances help a lot since is a huge defense (80% compared to 75% is around a 20% reduction in damage), but to get 3% from nodes i need like 6 points, i could get like 7% more max ele resistances but spending 1 jewel slot for an impossible escape and around 11 points, at which point i would loose either too much damage or i doubt the tankiness loss would be compensated. If possible i would like to keep using divine ire of disintegration (or the normal version), and lightning warp for movement (this skill feels even better than leap slam honestly, and even bought a cosmetic so it looks better too), i have garb of the ephemeral since i like the divinity mechanic even if it is kind of ass with the downtime, and omniscience cause at the time simplified a lot of things, i doubt is optimal to keep those around but well, as i stated i cannot find clear decent upgrades without going for big reworks on the build. If someone could give some tips or suggest improvements i would greatly apprecite, i got a buget of 100divines can stretch up to 120-140 + what i farm in the meanwhile. If no one can help, well, it is what it is.
Have a good day everyone

If you are struggeling to get more max. resist from the tree or can't implement items with +max res you can maybe try to use some jewels like this one?

Or you try to push just one max res to 90 and use a melding of the flesh jewel. Or you could use another defense layer like spell suppression.
Or maybe it would be a good idea to take a closer look at some fotm build guides for your class to get a better understanding of the defense mechanics in general?

Edit: And from what I read your char is a decent mapper. A good mapper isn't a good bosser most of the times. There are very few builds that can do it all!

Please use paragraphs, there's a reason «wall of text» has a negative connotation. Thank you.
Is very difficult to read without paragraphs.

Sounds like your build is working pretty well but maybe struggling with going beyond t16? Not too familiar with garb of the ephemeral, so I cant really advise. Gear looks pretty decent. Dying in juiced maps, is that the problem?

Is there a reason res is not capped? I know might be hard with omni but should still be capped unless there's something on the build I don't understand?

(May be just Alira not showing in POB, but says res is under capped)

Sorry about the paragraph things, i barely if not never interact actively in forums.

I have resistances capped but at 75%, going beyond that would take me big investments that i do not know how to adress, since i would need to sacrifice something for it and despite i am doing decently in damage is not like i can drop 20% dps and be just fine.

About content and dying i am most likely struggling to go for uber bosses (normal maven being rough too, still learning it) and leveling, i cannot talk about t17 maps since the only ones i've ever gotten are valdo ones and they get some very nasty modifiers. The deaths i struggle the most with are then i get one shots all around, for example: Yesterday i got the last breachstone for the maven invitation, completed it without a problem, then went onto the maven invitation, i got obliterated, not a chance, i was getting one shots all over and i do not even know why.

My main issue is that i lack knowledge of the game, and despite i've looked everywhere a lot of guides are outdated, and with the information of the wiki i am left with 1000 variables that i do not know how to adress, specially in the defense category.

I've checked old builds for divine ire, but since things have changed cannot take much from them, so i went onto poe.ninja to check builds that are using divine ire and divine ire of disintegration and see how they adress the balance between damage and defenses, but for now i could not find a way to implement that stuff into the build.
Cant give proper specific build advice but you seem to have too many uniques and they dont seem to synergize properly either.
You dont seem to stack attributes so it looks like you are wasting a part of your Amulet slot.
And in general the more uniques you stack the better the rest of your gear needs to be to fill the gaps. If you would have a Mageblood you might get away with stacking so many unique items. But as it is it looks like "unique item overload" to me - typically new player issue.
If you are not using PoB (Path of Building) you may want to try it and fiddle around with it.

Thats probably what you need to do if you want significantly better survival.

You could try looking at other selfcaster guides or builds in poe.ninja. You can also look at my selfcaster last league but its SSF so rather simple and you have alot more options in trade league: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1843683/page/544#p25351579 Edit: Parts of my build are dysfunctional now due to 3.25 nerfs.
Improperly built selfcaster is currently very weak in PoE.

I use this list for builds with "vanilla" defenses - but it doesnt tell you how to get them as this is build dependent:

"
0. Game Knowledge
1. Movement and positioning. Dont get hit by big things. Dont get group-mobbed. This is the most important defensive layer for most mapping builds. It has player and build components.
2. Elemental resists, should be overcapped. How much depends: If you have the curses cant lower them then 25% overcap are good for mapping.
3. Buffer: You need enough life/ES/whatever. How much depends on the other things. You also need to be able to recover it.
4. Something against phys stuff. Like Armour. With good buffer 10k armour may be enough for mapping. With less buffer (most SC mapping builds) you need more.
5. Attack Avoidance: Evasion or block. Block is unreliable though.
6. Something against bleed and corrupted blood. If you dont have a permanent solution then bleed can easily stealth kill leading to "random" deaths.
7. Chaos resist. How much depends on buffer size.
8. Ele ailment reduction or better immunity.
9. Spell Suppression. Or spell block. Or some Aegis skill or some such. Or more max resist + phys mit.
10. Crit damage reduction.
11. Curse effect reduction. This ranks higher if you do not have immunity to resist lowering curses and are not sufficiently overcapped.

No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

Some of the maven invitations are substantially harder than the individual bosses, not only because you are fighting them all at once, but also because of levels. For example the synthesis bosses you can do on lower levels than they are in the maven crucible, so it is a big difference. I think this migh also be the case for breech bosses, that you fight them at lvl 81/82 but may be 83 in the crucible. Not certain about this, but at the very least you are fighting 4 at the same time, so it gets harder.

With the maven fight, it is very mechanical without dps, so its a lot about learning the fight. So long as you can do the memory game consistently then you should be able to do the fight once you've learned all the mechanics, because its not a dps check like say uber sirus degen, or very random like the feared. Its a fight that is a bit difficult to learn, but once you know all the mechanics is less of a gear check. So probably you just need some practice on that one, 1.5 mil dps should be plenty to do that fight so long as your not dying to everything. You seem to have a good amount of regen on the build, so that should be pretty helpful in the fight, so long as you're not touching the beams.

Hard to give specific build advice, because it's something a bit different. When I looked at your POB, it looked like your hit pool is ok, so long as sustaining max EX, but also not amazing. Which is probably why you've gotten very far but hitting a bit of a wall. Max hit of ele not too bad, physical a bit low. Considering you don't seem to have much other layers of defense, other than a bit of spell block, that makes them more borderline. Most people doing end game content will have higher values, on top of having other layers of defense. Or, alternatively, a lot of damage so their defense is less relevant. Chaos res 42 would be good on most builds, but on a hybrid build chaos res is also more important. Probably enough, but chaos damage is still going to be dangerous in some situations. Capped res is good, but as above post has mentioned, sometimes that is not enough, because if it gets lowered by anything your taking a lot more damage suddenly. Something must be missing on the POB I'm looking at, because even if I add Alira you are still under capped.

Looks to me like this is your own unique build. Which is great, just makes it hard to give advice on. Any advice I give is not going to be based on any knowledge of how it actually works. Something I am thinking that might be worth trying, is getting some attack block and glancing blows. You seem to have some amount of block on the build already and regen from scions guardian ascendancy, maybe building this up more would help with some of the one shots. The block nodes opposite Glancing blows also have res, so they might be useful.

Thank you very much for the tips, i am indeed using an overload of unique items, it's pretty hard to me to see what to place in that slot, for examplex 2 or 3 days ago i changed my weapons to annihilating light, and in the market could not find a rare belt with enough stats to compensate for the elemental res loss from the weapon, so i had to get yet another unique item, tho there was a good part of this, my damage bumped up by a lot which allowed me to clear elder on the shaper realm and normal maven, now struggling with clearing a t17 map for the 6th slot.

I would like to try to change some items from uniques to rares, but feels pretty hard to change some things like the 18% max hp i get form hands of the high templar or the 21% max hp, es and mana i get from crown of the innward eye (i did not have this many uniques earlier on, but as time passed without enough knowledge of the game rares became harder to pull off, tho i am concious most people use rares for almost every slot).

I use PoB a lot and sometimes i find better options from what i have but it is hard, probably because the build has a bad/mediocre foundation.

For gear upgrades mageblood is actually a big one, allows me to change back at least 1 of my rings getting more damage and tankiness while also getting around 6% to all max ele res, but 200div an uncorrupted one... Another thing i red in the internet is that +5 skill level is huge on damage, similar to annihilating light but without the downside for the weapon, so eventually i could try to craft or buy a weapon of that caliber, allowing to change some other things around, same for the +8 level on amulet, but the little i looked into this is mageblood price amulet or more, gotta eventually look once i get more currency.
Just looked briefly at your gear and there is one very obvious flaw you can fix quite easily.

You are using ele focus support for your main skill, which is preventing said skill from applying any ele ailment at all.
However, the taming ring requires ele ailments to be applied to trigger its dmg buff and thats not happening. Which means right now those rings are simply res stat stick and nothing more.

If thats good enough for you, leave it as is.

If its not good enough, either drop ele focus which will cost a ton of dps or replace the taming rings with something else. Cuz like I said, currently those rings arent doing much at all.
Oh yeah, it works because im using wave of conviction to apply ailments and exposure, so the main skill just makes big kaboom hit, usually between smite (for the aura buff) and wave of conviction i inflicted chill and chock, about ignite i do not know if i don't inflict it or it does not show on the enemy life bar.
