Really requiring some clarity on this wording

With the new runecrafting bench came the enchant " Chaos damage with your hits is lucky ".

I cannot find any information anywhere if this is local or global and whether or not it would scale the poison damage from my soulrend of the spiral due to bigger spell hits that are not critical strikes. Or does poison take an average? Could somebody please help clarify the completely missing amount of information here before I throw 30 divines in the bin. Thank you.

Nevermind, found the answer. Lucky hits do not change the damage range of ailments, they're rolled independently (somehow?)

I might be wrong but I think ailments take the average damage as base and use it for damage calculations. That's why volatility increases ignite damage, despite saying attack damage, but being lucky doesn't
