Animate Guardian and rune enchant with overcap fire resistance doesn't seem to be working

I built a character all around the idea of giving as much fire resistance to my animate guardian and using the rune enchant that grants "7%-10% Increased Fire Damage Per 1% Fire Resistance above 75%". Now, I'm not that great of a build creator but I think I did well enough to realize that the damage that I think should be there is not there (I could just be bad). With that said, I have given my animate guardian over 500-600 fire resistance and gave him the axe and the damage doesn't seem to be there. If it matters, he also has 100% crit chance, 400 crit multi and the base damage scaling is mainly through 16 lv 27 pyroclast mines on the ground. I was wondering If the enchant on the weapon was even being applied to the animate guardian at all. I ended up testing if it was just because it was a rune enchant so I tested another animate guardian with a curse on hit rune enchant and it seems to work fine. The enchant "7%-10% Increased Fire Damage Per 1% Fire Resistance above 75%" gives no indication that it would only apply to players (like rathpith) so I thought it would be fine.

In summary, does the enchant actually do anything on an animate guardian.

Enchantment works with current resistance and not with overcapped. That is, you need to raise the maximum resistance.
