Skill not doing damage past act 4

Hi.

There's a problem with my character where my skill (only Shield Crush) stops working past act 4 unless I equip one specific shield. I've changed ascendancy once, but that's pretty much everything "out of the ordinary" I've done on this character. I'm not sure what else to include here, but I'd be happy to provide more specific information if you have any questions.

The skill completely stops doing damage unless there's a very specific shield equipped. Seems to only be an issue from act 5 onwards.

Shield Crush damage is based on the shield stats, which could be one of the issues you're running into if you're still using a low-level shield. Otherwise, I'd check your support links (if any) to see how they're interacting.

Sorry, I've tried updating the public preference again.

The problem isn't low damage, it's that any other shield except the one that works (Lycosidae) stops doing any sort of damage after act 4. I can do damage and ignite with the other skills (Leap Slam, i.e.) just fine.

Check the "chance to hit" in your characters profile after switching to the other shield. Its probably very low and you are simply missing all the time.
Your current shield has the "hits cant be evaded" mod, so you will always hit.

If thats the case, either stack accuracy so you do hit or invest 2 passive points into Resolute Technique in the southwestern area of your tree, which also means you will never miss.

My chance to hit with other shields is at 36% and I am moving to pick up Resolute Technique in the next few levels anyhow. However, 36% chance to hit should be enough to at least hit SOME mobs past act 4 in any case, I think.

I guess you should still hit every now and then - unless RNG says otherwise ofc ;)

You could try run precision aura, see if that helps.
Doubtful but might be enough for now.

What really boggled my mind was that other skills (including non-slam and non-minion skills) didn't seem to have the same issue. I just stood there and attacked and 50+ Shield Crush attacks missed on low level enemies, no matter what enemy.
