The lack of fun yet viable build guides is disappointing
Must admit i'm disappointed with the build options on maxroll, the forums and most other places. Everyone only has build guides for the most OP skills in the game ignoring viable fun builds that might not be the most optimal but someone might want to play if their goal is to have fun. Lightning arrow I find kinda fun but I die alot on it but all the other guides don't appeal to me. I only played it because there are no build guides for skills I want to play with.
If I wanna play Double Strike or Dual Strike Dualist or an Arc Totems Templar or the like there aren't any and I have to basically search online and find none or make it myself when I don't know how to pick passives and gems to make the most of it so I'd just end up with an unviable mess and rage quit from failing not because the skill sucks but because my ability to work out what to pick wasn't good. Hell if I wanna play a Scion? Nope there's no builds for her at all (at least on maxroll) and the 4 on forums aren't using skills I want to play with. If you want to build something specific and don't know how because of a lack of guides you can always go look on POE ninja or you can ask here or on the POE builds subreddit. Give a rough idea of what kind of build you want to play, maybe a budget and i am fairly sure you'll find someone willing to help you out. Either with a build they made or by just making something up based on your guidelines.
Content creators make content that is intended for a large audience. Making guides for niche stuff nobody will want to play isn't going to earn them any money. If you like going off track the best option would be to learn how to make things work yourself though. It's not that hard. Requires some patience early on to figure out what works and what doesn't but after you have some experience it get's easier. |
