Pirate Ransom

Hello, my map runners were attacked by a pirate, a pirate i've managed to kill not once until today it magically one shotted me.
i went and farmed 1m gold and it still says "insufficient gold" when i want to pay the unknown amount of ransom.

is this a bug?
is it intentional as if you failed the boss fight so you can't pay the ransom?
what am i supposed to do now?
if i will click that abandon button, i will lose 6 rank 10 mappers as well as all of the maps that are in the device, i assume..
anyone had such a situation going on and can tell me if they managed to pay after failing the boss and how much if so?

Well so far I never failed a boss fight, but I did accidentally use the portal on the ship boss.

For me it said "insufficient gold" on the ransom forever. When I later relogged it was just greyed out without any tooltip.
The only option was to abandon my ship and crew, so I assume it's the same for the mappers.

It really hurts to lose all ur settlers of that device/ship :|

well, i honestly think it's a bug since not even support staff are able to answer my question on if you lose a boss fihgt you have to abandon or can still pay X amount of gold to rescue them, as well as the ransom message does not show any amount of gold required

That fight is not that hard if you are on right lvl. If someone speed up his Kinsgmarch and faces him earlier then he is really dangerous.
