New to game, character got downgraded from Settlers to Standard league?

I'm fairly new to PoE despite having owned the game for a long time. I jumped in to play Settlers league and made a character for the league. I played for a few hours and talked to the guy who offers to take you to the new settlement. I declined the offer for now, intending to get more familiar with the game first.
I didn't play for about a week, and when I came back, my character was now a Standard League character. Is there any way to restore it back to being a Settlers league character or do I just have to start over again? Last bumped on Aug 9, 2024, 3:31:40 PM

Characters do not get downgraded from a league to Standard. The only way for a league character to end up in Standard is if it was a Hardcore league character that died. Dead hardcore characters get sent to the parent league (Standard).
Was your character a hardcore Settlers one? 😹😹😹😹😹

you lose nothing if you have a character with level 8, and 3 in perma HC league
