Can't finish act 2 quest "Deal with the Bandits"/"Shadow of the Vaal"

On the quest i chose to save Alira with after killing the other 2 namdit lords when i go back to finish the quest Alira just attacks me instead of being able to hand in the quest. When i kill her i don't get her item to be able to hand it in to Eramir to finish the quest that way. Not sure what to do now?
