Are amounts of essence monsters from Essence Scarab of Calcification affected by map modifier

Are the amounts of essence monsters that spawn from Essence Scarab of Calcification affected by "#% increased number of rare monsters"?

Essentially, when I did essences early this league I used many alchs and scours hunting this modifier. I am asking if it actually helps my profits or if im wasting my time. I'm just looking for some confirmation :)
