Maps have tiers, item levels and monster levels. Why?
Maps have tiers so you can pick appropriate ones for your characters, right? They also have item levels, which can vary quite a lot. Searching the tab where i keep my maps for "ilvl:77", matches go from Tier 7 to Tier 13. Why do they vary so much?
And this league, i noticed Alt+hover also shows a Monster Level. This appears to always be Tier + 67, no matter the map's rarity or quality. So why do we need it? Last bumped on Aug 8, 2024, 2:07:50 AM

Maps have tiers, 1-17
White, Yellow, Red and Purple - to visually represent difficulty. This is what scales monster level from lv68-84 Which given your characters power level and actual level determines what mobs you should be farming to ensure you are within the experience gain window without suffering a penalty. Higher difficulty maps reward higher item level gear, which enables are larger pool of affixes with a higher tier which makes the numbers go up. Please advise if anything is unclear and requires further clarification. |

" The item level works like it does for gear: it's dependent on the monster level of the area, and the rarity of the monster. With item filters, you can't filter based on the monster level of the area an item drops in, but you can filter based on the item's level itself. Having an item level on map items means you can adjust how they display based on where they drop. A tier 5 map that drops in a tier 4 map is probably more important to you than a tier 5 map dropping in a tier 16 map. |
