Spell echo + Void Sphere of Rending

HI,
I don't know if this interaction is commonly asked, but why doesn't spell echo work with void sphere of rending (I will just use "void sphere" from now on)? Is it because there can only exist one instance of void sphere at a time? The skill functions, and is worded very similarly as Hydrosphere (which works with spell echo), and also, Wave of Conviction too can only have one instance of the skill at a time, BUT it CAN be supported with spell echo. I just don't see why Void Sphere should be the odd one out.
Can someone give me an explanation?
And are there many spells that don't work with spell echo but it is not apparent why?

you can only have one sphere. So that it is not able to be supported by spell echo.

The support gem text is not updated as far as i know

Yes, I am sure spell echo works without problem with Wave of Convictions, as it was included in an official 'Build of the week' video from GGG. Wave of Conviction with Spell Echo makes a wave and then the repeat makes a second one, ending the first one, because in the skill description, it is stated "Only one Wave of Conviction can be active at a time" just like in Void Sphere, but it works fine.

The video I'm talking about is Ifnjeff's Hydrosphere build. It occurred to me why not just use Void Sphere instead of Hydrosphere? And I realized the transfigured version of Void Sphere was not in the game at the time of the making of that build, so I started theory crafting, found out it doesn't work for no reason at all, made this post in frustration, then checked bug report posts, and realized that a lot of people think this is a bug. I only found one post thread with a GGG developer response, saying they will look into it... oh well time to move on, I don't think this interaction will be fixed (or explicitly stated that it is intended) in the near future.
