Energy Blade interaction with Runesmithing

If I use the weapon with rune influence. When I convert it to energy blade via the gem, what will happen?

Using Energy Blade grants a buff that completely replaces your existing weapon(s), creating a one handed Energy Blade(s) or a two handed Energy Blade based on your equipped weapon, at the cost of half your total Energy Shield.
