frostbolt does not iteract with Kitava's Thirst

when i place frostbolt on Kitava's Thirst i cant use skill.i have all the stats frostbolt is connected to returning projectile support,greater multiple projectile support and faster casting.i dont know what the issue is i can use it on my wand (profane wand).

but didn't zizaran explain that he "casts" frost bolts onto the novas to start the chain? (or vice versa) I'm having trouble with that too. Or maybe I'm just not understanding the build mechanic. Also, in his video, he says frost "bomb" on bosses and that's not anywhere on the build that I can see. He also has a different skill icon so I'm wondering if I'm not following an updated version?

Are you using the transfigured gem? Ice nova of frostbolts?

That gem contains description:
"If the caster targets near their Frostbolt projectiles, it will expand from a number of those projectiles instead."

The regular gem used to do this, but I think it was removed and you need the transfigured gem now.

As seaman is saying, if the gems is being triggered you can't also self cast them. So either they are both being triggered and proccing, or one of is being self cast from a non triggered slot. Haven't played the build, but I know on cospri coc/icenova you can have them both in the trigger and they will proc. The socketing order can be important. This build may be different, but you should be able to see it on the build guide.
