MacOS game install/update fails
Whenever I try to install the game or update it (it worked before the latest update earlier today) I get the same error message as a bunch of other people have been reporting on this forum.
" Last leage was the first time I had major issues with the native mac client, but it was an easy workaround removing the path of exile.app from application support/Path of Exile and then starting again. However, at this point in time, nothing of the several different fixes I've tried have managed to let me play. Not even via steam where I can't login without crashing to desktop. Please GGG have a look into this, last league something changed in your update/install which seems to have gotten worse this league and it's breaking the experience for alot of Mac players. " Update on this. A fresh install (remove everything from /Applications and /Applications Support regarding poe) with the latest installer resulted in the first error message of the quoted message. Steps I did after that to make it work: 1. press Move to bin 2. Move "Path of Exile.app" from Bin to ~/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile 3. Option+Right click ~/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile/Path of Exile.app and press open 4. In the box that opens, press open anyway. This made the installer run for me for whatever reason. Still, this is a complete reinstall each time an update occurs. |

I managed to do the update without a full reinstall this time.
1. option+right-click Path of Exile.app in /Library/Application Support/Path of Exile 2. “Path of Exile.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin. 3. Click Move to bin 4. Move Path of Exile.app from bin to /Library/Application Support/Path of Exile (replace it when asked) 5 .option + right-click Path of Exile.app in /Library/Application Support/Path of Exile Worked for me. Now that I've written all of this, I'm unsure if I'm using option+right click or command + right click... |

Go to settings privacy and security, scroll down you'll see that "path of exile" has been blocked from running, click open, and then click open anyway instead of move to trash.
if your not getting the open anyway prompt like the guys above this got me in. |

reinstalling does not work either:
1. delete all files and the /Library/Application Support/Path of Exile folder itself 2. launch the installer 3. The installer downloads the 40.98 MB update 4. then the launcher closes the launcher is blocked by the OS (security) as we wrote above. but the confirmation that I want to install/It also doesn't lead to anything. moreover, the .app file does not appear here /Library/Application Support/Path of Exile in steam, the problem is solved only by completely reinstalling PoE |

Adding PathOfExileClient from the game folder to App Management (Settings > Security and Privacy > App Management) fixed the update fail error in Steam for me (but not the failed to connect error once installed).

" If you watch my previous replies you can see that you most manually move the path of exile app from bin (or applications) to library/app.... The steps you took here are not the same as I have mentioned before. |
