Cant load into a game. Just freezes

i just downloaded the game again after many years. i tried to start a new character and it keeps freezing trying to load into a game.

12th gen intel core i7-12700H 2.70GHz

16.0 GB ram 15.7 usable

NVIDEA Geforce RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU


64bit operating system

windows 11

If anyone knows a fix that would be great TYIA

Hello there! I have a similar issue where my entire PC freezes in loading screens after a few minutes of playing Path of Exile. Does your entire PC freeze or is it just the game and then it crashes to desktop? If your entire PC freezes then GGG needs to step up and do something about this since you're not the only one I've seen with this issue. It affects a very small amount of poeple, but still... I've tried literally everything but to no avail. I'm thinking it's a game's issue after the 3.25 patch.

I had the same issue and was able to resolve it by switching my in game settings to DirectX12.

(default was 11, and switching to 12 has solved everything)

I was always on DX12 to begin with...

It's freezing for me as well and really killing my experience! Never had this issue before!

Ryzen 5 5600x
Rtx 3080 10gigs
32 GB RAM

Install NVIDIA 552.22. Newer driver versions are bricked.
