An Unexpected Disconnection Has Occurred

After crashing randomly, I am unable to enter the game with my Settlers (trade league) character. Furthermore, I can not create a new character in the Settlers (trade league). All other leagues and all other characters connect just fine. I get the error: An unexpected disconnection has occurred.

My speculation is that this is due to something in my town.

Further speculation: I believe that I had a shipment that was about to arrive (or had just arrived) as I crashed. This shipment was full of 1500-2000 wheat or corn and 500-1000 crimson iron bars. I speculate that the game crashed while trying to load one or more of these items.

Normally, this would simply crash your game and you would be rolled back to before you picked up the item and the instance that the item belonged to would be deleted. However, since the town can not be deleted, this error has soft locked my game.

There used to be videos in the past of people picking up expensive items, their games crashing, and then getting rolled back to before they dropped the item. I suspect that this happened to me. Wheat/corn gives currency as a reward. It could be the case that there is a piece of currency in the ship reward that is causing this crash (probably a mirror :^D).

Same issue, randomly disconnected (possibly due to ship arrival). Now seems cannot log in league character (standard seems to be working)

I am getting the same issue.
But I did not crash at all, I just logged out at some point and when I tried to get back on later.

I started getting this error.

This seems to be an ongoing issue for a lot of folks.

Quick trouble shooting - are you able to long into Standard / SSF League / Ruthless League?

My friends having the same issue can log into SSF, but when to migrate into trade, their character gets bricked.

Seems the trade server is bricked for some accounts.

Just occured same error for my character too. Can't login to league after crash. All symptoms are the same as written by creator of this post.
