Polymath recovery not triggering off of locus mine kills

Apologies if this is intended, but should locus mine kills trigger Polymath recovery on Trickster?

Effects which grant life, mana, energy shield or charges on kill do not grant these bonuses when kills are achieved through proxy sources of damage, i.e. minions, traps, mines, or totems.
