Can you guys help me out finding a beginner friendly build for console for the upcoming league?

I made it to the endgame for the first time in PoE during Necropolis. I used a build that was 'cheap' in PC terms but since the console market prices are insanely high compared to PC, completing the build wasn't cheap at all. So I'm kinda reluctant to go with a PC build this time around.

Can somebody help me out with a build that would be fairly beginner friendly and cheap even on console?

Thank you!

Just choose a starter build not based on 'cost' but in terms of accessibility for SSF. You can look at the results of people in the first week of the last league on SSF(except dd) and choose a build for yourself. For example EA balistas, BAMA, ice nova/frost bolt hierophant still very good starters.

P.S. And a small note, high prices in the economy on consoles mean... that you will also be selling loot at higher prices than on PC
Last league I played Poison SRS Necromancer - was able to get all 4 void stones for the first time and complete T17 map to unlock extra map slot.
Minions kill everything for you so there is no aiming which is hard on controller.

Check out guide from BalorMage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCzLF49KedM

I will be playing Lacerate Gladiator. Looks like it's going to be very tanky and melee got a lot of buffs so it should be very nice to play.

Both look fun, I'm leaning a little bit towards the necromancer! Thank you so much!

Awesome, thank you for the info!
You can never go wrong with Pohx's Righteous Fire.

He has an extremely comprehensive website that will answer any questions you have, including detailed crafting guides for any of the pieces that need it (weapons, amulets, etc).

The build is not super powerful, but it's very reliable, and there's no better guide anywhere.

I second righteous Fire because I've league started it pretty much well for forever now and it's just an all-around solid mapper if you're careful enough you can do bosses but it might be a little slow but it's very easy to generate currency on a righteous Fire character for sure. And that site he linked has every bit of into you will ever need including how to craft your gear in depth.
