Conqueror with Ritual "Dead" + Still Speaking

As title says, I've never seen this before. The conqueror's portal was right on top of a ritual; intuitively I'd assume something broke in the interaction with them. I killed the conqueror inside the portal, but the ritual outside remains inactive (as in: still monsters to kill) despite everything being dead, and every time I enter the portal he gives a voice line as if he was just killed right when I re-entered. Other oddities: he did give completion for Maven, so the game definitely recognized he died.
