Client log file size

I just checked the client log file for the first time. Apparently this file has a size of 13.7 GB on my system. It has been created in 2019 and it looks like it continuinly grew since then. I cant even open it with any text editor any more because its too large.

Is this intended behaviour? Or are users supposed to know that and manually clear the file every now and then?
