League feedback

More feedback from me, now a fair bit into Necropolis league

The things that are specific to this league that arent added content that will carry over... theres not much

At the start of the league there was a fairly interesting map modifier thing when activating a map.

It was nerfed to oblivion a few days after launch, no longer will I ever see divine orb chance or nameless seer, THOUSANDS of maps tried

All that did is make the fast party players/exploiters/speedrunners get rich very quickly while casual players like myself who do play many hours a day but solo and in no rush take a few days to get to a point where a build can run yellow tier maps

The day this game is only playable using meta builds and exploits is the day it dies and I play something else, this game is really interesting for all the different ways you can build, it NEEDS the balance team to preserve this.

By nerfing the map device it denied casual players a way to enjoy it while others that farmed the divine drops for 40 divines per map kept all their wealth.

If you run alch and go maps without anything specific, even using the back to basics atlas tree strat its an utterly bland uninteresting league and truly UNREWARDING.

Ive seen ONE SINGLE divine orb drop since the league start

Its pretty clear that the game is being balanced according to the top 1%, they see people getting 50 divines per map and think oh we have to nerf the divine drop chance this is ridiculous

In reality those players are in teams using specific party play builds like aurabot and a glass cannon to clear and they are plowing considerable currencies into every map, divination scarab of curation for example

ALL my raw loot so far this entire league isnt enough to buy ONE of those

OK before someone says you are a noob and using an off meta crap build no wonder you have no loot etc, not the case. Last league I had nearly identical build, I found a mirror of kalandra, numerous hinekoras locks, 2-3 divine per map as I was tanky enough to farm juiced t16 I had an absolute blast playing and I got to level 100 from solo play for first time

Same build this league and Im farming 2c per map, I havnt had a single t17 map drop despite running t16 maps all the time

The rest of the league content is a graveyard where you can plant corpses to get items, no battle, no lore just find random crap randomly and get items for it, why not just drop stacked decks? its the same amount of actual gameplay

The worst thing about the league is allowing players to farm tons of wealth and then nerfing it so casuals dont get to have it, and when you try to upgrade your build you see items you need for 50+ divines that make you want to delete the character

There is NOTHING good about this league, its made me quite depressed when I think about playing POE, like what the F is the point? another day of farming nothing but crap because I didnt get a 1 in 500 chance on the map device

I made a post early league describing all the issues and this follow up is to confirm that nothing has improved since and this is by far the WORST league since I started playing POE back in Harbinger league

GGG you have turned it into a fruit machine for the speedrunners

I would normally play the game for 5-7 hours per day but I might quit, Ive gone from being really happy playing the game and buying extra character slots etc ready for this league and I was just about to buy the 90 dollar supporter pack with the turtle hideout but I CANNOT when I am not enjoying the game at all

buffing the regular versions of pinnacle bosses was a massive blunder too, do you want to force everyone to copy paste a build that can actually do content just to be able to play the game or will your team actually balance the game to have freedom of builds, like NERFING overpowered crap that everyone uses instead of nerfing rewards and buffing content

Embezzeler mobs, whoever designed those should be fired on the spot.

Balance is not difficult, you just have to have a grasp of reality meaning everything meaning have some empathy with the game and stop hiring people who are winging it "we want to show players this league that we give a shit" I remember that line from the reveal video and its aged like spilt milk, this league has shown players that despite some new core content the developers care far less about the game than in previous leagues, turning things into random chance fruit machine dynamics is a massive slap in the face to gamers

I thought it was a lazy Harvest league, its not. its Standard league with some annoying crap thrown in.

Core content added:
Scarabs, they dont work. It was a nice idea but they are bottle necking the game to either run them or your gaming experience will suck. Very poor design.

99% of scarabs are less than 1c value, a very underwhelming "reward" that further pushes the lottery chance dynamic. A week in and I have a stash tab full of scarabs, I check their value, next to nothing entirely.

Changing the extra map device slot to completion of tier 17 map is also a really poor choice. I still have 4 slots, I had to buy a t17 map as they simply dont drop, I have bosses are influenced by wildwood wisps, I clear maps so bosses are buffed. During whole league I have not seen ONE drop from bosses that was any good whatsoever.

I was really hoping that after a while I would come back to the forum and say how the league turned out to be good etc but its a pile of steaming turd.

I can say with confidence that playing standard this league wouldve been a FAR better option. I cannot say that about past leagues.

Necropolis league is a waste of time, wasting time causes stress, hence this post.

How did POE go from being so much fun to being a casino simulator??? who was responsible for it, someone was. whoever that was ,I, gtfo.

An unhinged rant is normal reflection for such a non league like this.

"dont like it dont play it" Ive literally had more "fun" posting this than spending that time on Necropolis league

I cant even be bothered any more to list suggestions for fixes solutions etc, there were many simple easy solutions that wouldve made it fun and worthwhile to invest time into playing, Zizaran had a good suggestion about the map device, have people get the good mods by playing the maps and charging the content for next time you use it discouraging the fruit machine mechanic

how about have actual content in the graveyard area with the unique corpses occuring when you try to harvest items from regular corpses so you have to fight the unique boss to get its corpse and not just find it randomly from a completely unremarkable random monster
how about open up a mini area with said boss fight at the end, make it easy enough for casuals and make the league specific unique items a bit more powerful so that casual players can find good items even on SSF

All the suggestions are for nothing a waste of time I just hate the thing where someone says there are ton of solution when there arent many, but in this case there were plenty, none will happen

I played this game since harbinger league and I have never once ever thought to criticize a league until now.

I loved playing POE. :-(

I think at this point its pretty forced that the solution is to make party play completely ineffective. Make auras only affect your minions and NOT other players. This will stop people exploiting the crap out of the league early and the idiot devs wont nerf the game mid league because they only watch streamers and have no grasp of the actual player base the game has.

You would still be able to play in a party but not to the point where it makes a mockery of the game as the power of the characters would be identical as if they ran the map solo.

I think if you dont do that you have to delete most if not all of this new content.

I pretty much agree with what you've pointed out.

I was going to make a similar post, because it's frustrating to me how some of the old mechanics were nerfed to the point they feel much less rewarding than ever before.

I always liked to run heist, expedition, harbingers.

Heist blueprint rewards are a complete joke (not a problem that started with this league, I know, it changed in 3.23 I believe), all you get are 1c replicas all the time and worthless rare items.

Expedition? 200 coins haggling for a very diminishing return, a single divine, chaoses and some junk, overall maybe a one third in value of what I was getting in the previous leagues.

Stacked deck stack size was reduced in both mentioned mechanics. Max what you can get in heist large chests is 2x stacked deck and they barely appear in Tujen's haggling inventory.

Harbingers are absolute crap, I've killed hundreds of them in maps (including bosses of course), I have every single point in atlas spec'd into them, not dropping a single fracturing shard - this also wasn't the case in the previous leagues. Ancient orbs and Orbs of annullment have decreased in value significantly - I used to trade them for chaoses, now it's also not an option anymore.

It's like being forced to play only very limited amount of endgame strategies to be able to actually make some currency, which defeats the whole purpose of the endgame atlas tree customization, the design they were trying to craft. It fails now.

And yes, the scarabs are awful. I liked the old system much more. Scarabs drop everywhere and you get full chest of worthless junk.

I won't even get into T17s and the league mechanic, it's just not worth the effort.
