Nerfs is one way how you can "separate" from the competition.

1400 dislikes versus 350 likes on a recent youtube video is a progress, because those 350 liked the opportunity it was presented and of course there will be more inclined to press the like/dislike buttons given how they "handle/deal" with changes/nerfs.

The more the game is "unknown" and the more it makes you "think" it's another way/opportunity how you can separate from the competition. I'm not gonna name some individuals, but they've been benefiting significantly over the past several years from PoE not doing enough to "test" or "challenge" players while they're playing it (experiencing the content).

Not sleeping and T0 uniques dropping from yellow maps are just few recent examples why events such as the Gauntlet are necessary for PoE to continue evolving.

This Reddit post made me smile. FYI, nerfs are "QoL" (Quality of Life improvement), because that's exactly what their purpose is, which is to nerf player power/creep, which indirectly gives more opportunities/choices for one to separate from the masses. Path of Exile released as an online ARPG that also featured a seasonal ladder/ranking.

Buffs are opposite of nerfs and buffs only diminish what one can do to separate from the masses/crowd. The Gauntlet alongside Ruthless mode became more in-demand as the game progressively got "buffed" or "easier" and its content more familiar over the years.

Once again, Reddit never disappoints of being the lovely echo chamber, but at least GGG understands something about competition. Path of Exile dominated the online ARPG market (and a big portion of the MMORPG market) and if POE (especially PoE2) is seen as another story driven, single player ARPG, that's what it will be.

There's plenty of single player, story driven "combat games" being pumped in the gaming industry every year, with the latest, more modern (better) graphics/engines, and all of them so far have failed to open my wallet.

I heard that, unlike Act X Kitava, it can be done with the Marauder.
