I ruined him easily.... I have watched video after video
how he fights. what to do

knowing he asbsolutely stunningly rare to ever find.

I ran down endless t14 maps. skipping the map waste of time
hard to level up at 95 to 96 so xp and item loss was meaningless.

absolutely meaningless.

I got to the king. ruined him in under a minute. knowing and having
studied his mechanics.... such a wildly rare encounter... and so
staggeringly important.

the stupid follow the wisp game... I did it so utterly slow. think

STOP. THINK. ACT. thats what you do when what you face is of overwhelming
importance. I did that. I followed carefully. saw the next wisp.
got to him.

AND THE 4th one LEAD ME THE F ASTRAY.

im gonna go run another 200 maps. or ill quit. never getting my 8 points.

the points you balanced the league after. the points req1uired for endgame
content.

in all other ways my build is sufficiently powerful. but i wanted to rock
up to 98 without leeching from an aurabot in no attack no loot rooms.

check my stats. check how many woods ive entered that were t14+
its so many many hundred. 3-4 encounters with the king.

its why I totally studied the match...

i've killed kotm a dozen times or 2. i've failed him a few times due to his dot. but thats on me.

when i was weaker i failed because he slammed me.

when i was less experienced i died due to being hit by his dont move/run debuff/follow up attacks.

that is all fine.

that is all on me.

dying because i lost my way in the maze feels just so damn cheap.

theres no "pity" system in place. no visual timer. no nothing. you lose your way you die.

i hate it.

tbh cheesy mechanics like this should come with a penalty but a death penalty? thats just too much.

i hate maven memory game because i m an old fart with failing memory. but KOTM's maze makes maven's memory game seem more desirable.

in the memory game you fail you die but at least you have a few more chances to try.

in the memory game IF your memory is good, you can get the pattern right, you pass the phase.

kotm maze? u take the wrong turn and cant find the right way in time? DIE. end. no second chances. the KOTM encounter is DONE for you.

all because of RNG.

ive only found him a few times, i died the same way you did
the first few times.

im calmer now. I raged but didnt provide a suggestions.

if this goes core.... I suggest it follows eater/maven/exarch style
and give you a chance every X times you engage the content to
face the boss of that content.

dont mean your ready to win, but its at least reliable...

im just gonna pound down on the woods. already ran 10 maps worth of
woods and only woods. I've got a lot of maps, I will get another
chance before I use my last t16. then ill bloody well buy them.

ill prolly not die to the fight, and the odds of me getting ripped off in
the in between stage are low.

I can't really relate, I didn't look up any of his mechanics and I only failed once because I ran onto the roaches during the whisp phase and didn't realise they'd kill me so quickly

I've done the king of the mist a total of 4 times and completed all the challenges for him

ive had a lot of trouble finding him. just found him again!
got through the wisps and lost the second fight to degen.

part of this i think is I didnt trust my instincts and just
mass run maps over and over and never clear them.

also to run almost at random. I kept doing an X pattern, north east
then backtrack to my portal and south west. then id curl one way or the other
not having enough to do another arm of the X.

the X never worked well. I am going with a mid range circle.
i just found him again after 15-20 runs... i might have been approaching
him properly.

I lost tho. but I found him easily! hope this repeats.
his degen got me in fight 2. the wisp didnt screw me over.

this might be possible... that being said... c'mon ggg.

It's not really hard to level to 100 pretty damn fast since leagues just by running maps. Even easier this league but no shocking surprise that you're stuck at 95 cause you basically waste all the free exp in your maps hoho

been playing for more than a week on this char, almost lvl98 and encounter is still to be seen.

There were people selling this about 1-2x an hour on hc trade for several weeks straight. The same person. There is a method to it, i never farmed him because i was specced into destructive play and it could be toxic. It is farmable though.

Just because you don't know how a mechanic works doesn't mean its completely impossible rng like finding a mirror.
