[3.23] Rage Vortex of Berserking Slayer - "Righteous Fire" for Melee
It's the end of the league and let's try to make something fun. So do you like fast mapping and walking simulation build? And it's cheap? Then this build is for you.
Rage Vortex of Berserking is here and ready to serve. -::- Build Intro -::- Since this is an off-meta build, you may not know about this new Transfigured gem. In fact, only 0.2% of users play Rage Vortex of Berserking on Poe Ninja is pretty clear evidence of how off-meta it is. Basically, you will spin your sword or axe around and deal damage. If you have more than 10 rages, Rage Vortex will create a ragestorm and attach it to you. Well, it's similar to Cyclone, but won't be canceled when you use movement skills like Leap Slam or Flame Dash. This is why I call it the "Righteous Fire" of Melee build. But of course, it has a downside. To sustain the ragestorm, it will cost you Rage, start with 3 rages per second and the cost will accelerate fast, until your depletes. And then you have to regain your Rage back and start the spinning again, really inconvenience. And that's the puzzle we gonna solve. -::- Mechanic -::- To generate Rage, many others are using Rage on Hit, Chainbreaker, and/or Kaom's Spirit. But since the cost accelerates too fast, these methods won't be enough to carry you through the whole map. This is when the forgotten belt Chains of Emancipation kick in. With Chains of Emancipation, every time you lose Temporal Chains curse, you will gain Maximum Rage. So now we have to find a way to self-curse our character with Temporal Chains and then remove it. And it must be fast to generate enough Rage for us to sustain the enormous Rage cost. Luckily, we have Shackles of the Wretched, which will reflect any curse we apply back to our character. And since the reflected curse on character is limited by 1, if we can reflect both Temporal Chains and another curse at the same time, the Temporal Chains curse will immediately removed. So now the last thing we have to do is find a way to apply both curses on enemies as fast as possible. For that, purpose, the curse on hit wiHitbe the best. But because Shackles of the Wretch only work with socketed curse gem, not curse on hit corrupted mod, so we cannot use double corrupted curse gloves for it. By linking Temporal Chains and one more random curse with Hextouch and Herald of Thunder, and using Storm Secret, every tevery timeock an enemy, Herald of Thunder will strike, and apply both curses on that enemy. The curses will be reflected back to our character and immediately removed because of the limits. With that, we always have Maximum Rage to sustain the Rage cost of Rage Vortex of Berserking. And the puzzle is solved!!! -::- Offense -::- Now we have a giant cyclone sticking with us and dealing damage to every enemy on our way, we must increase its DPS. And because we use Herald of Thunder, we should play an Elemental Damage build. We can get a high eDPS two-handed weapon, but a solid and cheap option for our build will be Rakiata's Dance. With the reverse elemental resistance of enemies, we don't have to invest anything into curses (and it looks really cool too). Thanks to the synergy of Rage Vortex of Berserking and Warcries, we can have the full exert attack buff from them. The best-in-slot Warcry for this build is Intimidating Cry. With it, we will always have our damage x2. By keeping Rage always at Maximum, we can active Berserk almost all the time for tons of DPS. Last but not least, we also use the wonderful boots Ralakesh's Impatience, and combined with Slayer's Masterful Form, we will have 8 Frenzy Charges and 3 Power Charges boosting our DPS. Combining everything, we have a gigantic AOE cyclone that follows us for speed mapping. -::- Defense -::- For Defense, this build has the: - Cap resistance at 78% from Loreweave. - 39% elemental damage reduction from Eternal Damnation. - 8 endurance charges and armor for 90% physical damage reduction. - 20 Fortification. - 19% less damage taken from Berserk. - 10% reduced damage taken when leeching. - 100% reduced extra damage from crit. And a big bonus that keeps our HP always at maximum, is instant leech from Akoya's Gaze. Because the warcry exerts attack applies for the whole Rage Vortex of Berserking duration, we always have 100% instant leech. And with Slayer ascendancy improved leeching, we can get the full potential from this. -::- Budget -::- By using almost uncommon unique items, this build is quite cheap, around 40-60 div. -::- Showcase Videos -::- T16 Hydra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnzETZRC04M -::- POB -::- Currently POB: https://pobb.in/BhicXzzL4j55 ______________________________________________________________________________ This is my first time writing a guide so there will be many mistakes.
