Really enjoying the racing in Season 2; would like to suggest a 2-point tier for these shorter events. The longer races allow more grind time to try to reach the three-point level, but the sprints pretty much make you go hard for 60-90 minutes. Eight is fine for a single, but what about 8-10 for one point, 11-12 for 2 and 13-15 for 3 ? Four levels is a big jump in a one-hour race, especially for a slowpoke like me. I'm more apt to pack it in and chill in Lioneye's rather than trying to get that next level. Two points is much more do-able in a short time frame, and might keep more players playing for the entire event.

Thank you again for this amazing game and all of these special events; can't wait to see what's next.

Pretty much seconded.
Yeah I don't get the gaps in reward points. If you know you can't make level 12 it encourages you to just stop at level 8, which is a huge difference in xp. People in those levels (8-12) are about half of the players in a 1h race and not having a half-way reward might just kill their incentive to learn and progress.

Edit: jumping from 12 to 16 is even worse in terms of skill gap.

I disagree. I did my first race yesterday in the 1-hour solo and got to level 13. I think the large jumps, for the most part, do the opposite of what you said. Instead of encouraging me to pack it at at level 10, with a large portion of time left, it encouraged me to keep playing, and get the 3. In every way, it's worth trying. Packing it in in a 1 hour race? Nice joke.
so I'm having trouble understanding this (applicable to any race).

The described rewards are *for this race only* and yet, there are progress achievements for impossible goals.

Who's getting to Cruel?

with a record of about level 20 in solo 1hour, wouldn't it be more appropriate to have the rewards be specific to the race length.

I know that the player level rewards are scaled, like in a 1.5 hour race, you have to get further in order to get rewards, but having quest rewards equates to making people think you're giving out more points than you are.

why not have 2 tiers of quests that fit into the 1 hour race.

Quest Prizes:
The first player to complete each of these quests wins the prize listed.

Normal difficulty Hillock (Twilight Strand): 2 Reward Points
ACT ONE Normal difficulty Medicine Chest (Tidal Island): 2 Reward Points
ACT ONE Normal difficulty Fairgraves (Ship Graveyard): 2 Reward Points
ACT ONE Normal difficulty Deep Dweller (Flooded Depths): 2 Reward Points

ACT TWO Normal difficulty Great White Beast (Cave): 2 reward points
ACT TWO Normal difficulty Golden Hand (Church Dungeon): 2 reward points
ACT TWO Normal Difficulty Sharp and Cruel (Weavers Chambers): 2 Reward points

remove these from a 1 hour event...
Cruel difficulty Hillock (Twilight Strand): 2 Reward Points
Cruel difficulty Medicine Chest (Tidal Island): 2 Reward Points
Cruel difficulty Fairgraves (Ship Graveyard): 2 Reward Points
Cruel difficulty Deep Dweller (Flooded Depths): 2 Reward Points
'Starts in 2 hours at 5:00 am, April 23rd 2013 GMT+02:00'
in two hour 5.00 am will be in gmt+1, not gmt+2.
yeah the risk vs reward just isnt there...

Have a feeling most are going to get to level 12 then log off. Thats probably what i'll do.

To get to level 12 you can take it pretty easy and farm ledges til 9..then easily kill brutus without much trouble..then rush to coves and farm to 12 with plenty of time to spare..but not yet enough time to get to 16.

So why go through some of the most dangerous areas..the caverns and Merveil..when there is no reward for it?

Even if you do manage it..you only get 1 more point.

Needs to be better point distribution.

Pretty sure RNG was flipping me the bird this race:
Fun race, sadly the only one so far that I haven't died in once :P I played a Marauder for the first time, and found practically nothing good except for some MS boots. I stopped with 15 minutes left because I has reached lvl 12 and I didn't really see any point in trying for 16. Plus Merveil was next.
Hardcore for life.
