projectile which travles through flame wall supported by elemental focus and ignite
does flat fire damage(like "Adds # to # fire damage) on projectiles gained from flame wall which is supported by elemental focus ignites?
flame walls second debuff on prejectile wont ignite because it is flame walls damage but added fire damage to a projectile is something diffrent right? is that damage affected by the gems supporting flame wall? Last bumped on Jan 4, 2023, 8:56:22 PM

i am talking about 1 on the image not 2. as i understand from the text 1 just adds fire damage, it has nothing related about flame walls debuff, it is just a basic added fire damage text like in a weapon and as i understand it related to projectile not flame wall |

???
damage over time is flame wall damage (note that it is not Ignite nor elemental ailment) added damage on the bottom is what will be added to your burning arrow base damage. Thats what I was talking about in my previous post edit: Flame wall's DoT debuff applied by Burning arrow will still be Flame wall damage. Again, this is not Ignite nor any other elemental ailment.. yes my question is can this added damge inflict ignite
|
|
???
what added damage. The only added damage is added damage at the bottom line. Ive already answered that the secondary debuff is a debuff that applies damage over time. I repeat again, it is not an elemental ailment. also DoT cannot hit thus cannot apply ailments IGN: Eric_Lindros

The question is, with Elemental Focus on FW, does the added base fire damage count for Burning Arrow ignite?

"Burning Arrow passed through the wall will get added fire damage that improve its ignite damage. |

Well, let me recap:
Fire damage always has a base chance to ignite. So, anything that has a flat fire damage can ignite an enemy, regardless on how that thing gets the fire damage. Putting Elemental Focus on that anything means it cannot inflict elemental ailment, thus will make Fire damage unable to ignite (or proc any other ailment), even if you have a 100% crit chance or use something that "always ignites". in order to ignite, Fire damage must come from an Hit. a Fire DoT cannot ignite (though Ignition itself is a Fire DoT). Elemental Focus can support any skill that deals elemental damage, making it unable to proc elemental ailments. This will, however, mean that it can support skills that only deal elemental damage in form of pure DoTs. In other words, you can support Righteous Fire, Scorching Ray or Searing Bond with an Elemental Focus and have zero drawback because of this. Now, Flame Wall is another pure Fire Dot skill but with a twist: if a projectile passes through it, it will both gain some flat Fire damage AND if that projectile hits will also inflict a Fire DoT debuff, whose damage is the same that Flame Wall does if enemies stands over it. To summarize, a projectile that passes through Flame Wall will inflict at least 1 Fire Dot on the enemy, 2 if it also ignites. If you support Flame Wall with Elemental Focus, there will be no drawbacks. The Fire DoT from Flame Wall will be stronger, projectiles will still get added Fire damage, will still be able to ignite (unless stated otherwise) and will still spread Flame Wall's Fire DoT on any enemy they touch. If a projectile supported by Elemental Focus passes through a Flame Wall, the added fire damage will kick in, but the projectile cannot deliver an Ignition. It will, however, spread Flame Wall's Fire DoT |
